MIES 1:1 THE GOLF CLUB PROJECT (2013)

Short video looking at Van Der Rohe’s design, which was unrealised at the time due to the Great Depression. The film documents the construction of a temporary full-scale model of the project, which was open to the public for several months in 2013.  (Photo by Chris Schroeer-Heiermann on Flickr)

YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (1967)

Set primarily in Japan, this Bond features classic local architecture alongside some of Ken Adam’s most ambitious production design work - including an elaborate villain’s lair within a volcano.  In one geographically-improbable sequence Sean Connery actually cruises past Tange’s modernist central-Tokyo stadium only to instantly emerge within the Japanese countryside :-).
