April massaged her temples as her headache pulsed painfully again.
She was so tired. Being a third-year in high school really wasn’t easy, mostly when aiming for a good college and maybe a scholarship. She had been studying day in, day out, and she still had so many unfinished assignments lying on her desk.
April let out a sigh as she rolled her shoulders and winced as she felt her muscle constrict. Of course, being a full-blown kunoichi now made things even harder. Not only was her mind sore, but her body as well. And as karma liked to play with her, Leo had been especially harsh in training for the last few weeks because of some stupid argument he had with Raph.
I really gotta teach that hotheaded idiot a lesson sometime.
The redhead scanned the streets below her as another throb shot through her head. God, she was getting sick of this.
“Oh yeah, and you’re an insufferable fool.”
“Yeah, that’s funny coming from you, you damn nerd.”
Speaking of getting sick of something, April grunted as she listened to her two companions on patrol bicker behind her. She was no fool, she knew that, even though they were friends now, they could still get at each other’s throats, and often because of her.
April didn’t even need them to say it out loud to know that it was about her, her psychic abilities helped there plenty, thank you very much. But if she was honest, she really didn’t have the time or energy to struggle with dumb love problems - school and ninja life were occupying her mind enough right now. So as yet another sword seemed to pierce through her skull, she felt her patience snap.
“Pff, you’re just a lame turtle, dude, you couldn’t beat Casey Jon—”
Casey’s eyes went wide as he stopped short in his sentence. He hadn’t done so voluntarily, his mouth wasn’t moving!
“Haha, the hell? You look so lam—”
Before finishing his sentence, Donatello experienced the same thing.
The two teenage boys shot horrified looks at the redhead they were fighting about. They could feel how, mirroring the motion of April’s hands, they started levitating from the ground. The kunoichi stretched her arms out to put distance between the two idiots as she shot both of them equally sharp glares.
“Guys, I’m tired, I’m pissed off, and I think Raph might have stuffed one of his sais through my head, and your damn whining back there does not help. So, from now on, shut your traps or I just might seal them permanently, have I made myself clear?”
The boys glanced at each other before vigorously nodding their heads. April gave a short nod back.
With that, she turned around and let her telepathy fade. April didn’t stop the grin that spread over her face when she heard the two morons grunt as they hit the floor.
today my coworker was like “i’m gay” and i’m like “yea me too” and his eyes light up because that moment of connection when u find another one of ur kind in a desolate heterosexual wasteland is absolutely pure n beautiful.

Why is it so hard for people on this fucking site to exept bi characters without having it be like “ omfg my gay baby uwu their forced to like the other gender because of the nasty cishets! There’s no way people can like both genders! Their gay you’re just opressing me because you’re homophobic” like seriously bi people exist
You start to feel like you’re outgrowing the people around you. It doesn’t matter what history is there or the memories you have together. You just get a sinking feeling and know that it’s time to move on.
