I get the impression that undertaker may be trying to get OC out of the contract. he revived ciel, and told him about sebastian. he might be the phantomhive's personal reaper, like grell was to red, who deals with all the deaths the phantomhives cause and gets the freedom to experiment, and in exchange he offered protection and aid to the family. but heres the question, would OC take the opportunity to get out of the contract if given the chance? or is he too proud?
It’s something he might do but I’m not sure that UT’s main goal revolves around OC at all, he hasn’t taken any premeditated
action to save OC from Sebastian which gives the impression that perhaps he never will. Though, this isn’t to say when the chance arises to kill Sebastian, UT wouldn’t try:
However, there have been numerous opportunities to kill Sebastian since that day and UT has yet to take any of them. So, trying to get OC out of the contract likely isn’t his focus? If he’d wanted to do so then it’s perplexing why he hasn’t taken further action, especially when UT has beaten Sebastian in every single encounter they’ve had.
Sebastian and UT are very similar though, as he said in the School arc:
So in the sense that they’re similar I’d assume they both do things just for fun. Sebastian, a butler to amuse himself, and UT as a supernatural-scientist (I guess) to amuse himself.
UT in CH84: “I… simply want to look beyond the fated end. Has it never occured to you that something exceedingly amusing may unfold beyond the roll of the credits?”
Sebastian in CH99: “Dear Master, I am afraid you have the wrong impression. My greatest amusement at the moment, you see… is the game I play as a butler with you.”
Meaning it would be amusing for UT to save OC, but whether he’ll go out of his way to do anything I’m not certain.
Despite all this it’s as you said, I don’t believe OC even allow someone to save him! He has a very low opinion of himself but values pride quite highly above everything, so he’ll stick to his agreement with Sebastian. Plus, Sebastian is a character that we’re supposed to like even if he has a horrible influence onto OC, so it would be impossible for OC to ‘betray’ Sebastian like that without betraying the audience as well - which I don’t think will happen.
Ciel and Sebastian’s dysfunctional yet functional relationship is Kuroshitsuji’s main thing! I doubt Yana will ever try to get rid of that.
The next time somebody (even yourself) makes you feel like your crossover idea is dumb or not worth writing, remember that the premise of a wildly popular video game franchise is somebody’s OC saving a bunch of Disney movies with the help of a ragtag group of Final Fantasy characters, and at D23 this year it was more popular than STAR WARS.
