We’re delighted to finally be carrying City Saucery’s preserved tomatoes! They are the perfect way to savor summer’s most delicious ‘matoes all fall + winter long. City Saucery was sponsored through a Kiva Zip loan to support this delicious tomato-canning project, made with tomatoes from one of our farms in Lancaster, PA. We’re so proud to see the sauces come into fruition!
Here’s a simple tomato sauce recipe using City Saucery’s Preserved Red Tomatoes with Basil. Keep an eye out for more recipes from the City Saucery family on our blog!
SWEET TOMATO & FRESH BASIL SAUCE with PASTA aka FILETTO DI POMODORO
This simple recipe is one of the easiest and most delicious ways to use your Sweet Summer Plum Tomatoes with Fresh Basil. Italians call it (and will always order it as their first dish) filetto di pomodoro.
Over medium heat, in a cast-iron skillet, add EVOO and the red onion and sautée until well caramelized (about 7 minutes). Add garlic and sautée for another 2 to 3 minutes. Add the whole jar of Sweet Summer Red Plum Tomatoes & Fresh Basil and mix well. Crush the tomatoes with a potato masher or wooden spoon. Add ½ cup warm water, oregano and sea salt. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring to boil a large pot of well salted water. Add your pasta and cook according to the instructions on the package. Ideally, until al dente! Drain pasta and add to the pot of sauce and mix well over a low flame. Sprinkle grated cheese of choice and serve. Buon appetito!

That moment when you thought you were already in the deepest depths of hartwin hell but Saucery smacks a new fic series onto ao3. You fall incredibly deeper into hell, passing countless of demons and then ruling your own level of the underworld.
Derek’s a drifter with no home, no destination, and no will to live. Stiles works on his family’s failing cattle and horse ranch while all his friends are going off to college. When Derek falls asleep in a random barn, exhausted and half-starved, he doesn’t expect to wake up on the other end of the sheriff’s shotgun. And Stiles sure as hell doesn’t expect his dad to invite the drifter in for breakfast.
“Okay,” Stiles says, drawing out the y. “Well, I’ve gotta go, Derek. Plenty more clueless individuals like yourself waiting to learn how to operate the majestic electronic device you hold in your hands.”
“I’m not holding it.” Derek doesn’t know why he does it but he waggles his fingers in front of the camera; the tablet is propped up against his legs. “See?”
Stiles rolls his eyes, smiling. “Goodbye, Derek. And thanks for calling Amazon today. Catch you on the flip side.”
In which Stiles is a tech advisor for Amazon and Derek really loveshates his Kindle.
Derek’s job at as a lifeguard is dull, sometimes, but he saves lives, and after everything that happened with Kate, that’s all he needs. So when he sees a swimmer out after closing hours, too far into the deeps to be safe, he plunges into the water without thought.
He didn’t know at the time that maybe, just maybe, this time it was his own life that he was saving.
“What? Paint me?” At first, Stiles thinks that maybe Derek wants to paint a portrait of him, which is hella freaking weird, but then, judging by the heat he sees in his eyes, he knows that’s not exactly what Derek has in mind. Okay, so the guy is hot, talented, rude, and probably a little insane. Stiles is really regretting not running background checks on all of the building’s tenants before moving in. Laura Hale offered him such a good deal, he should have known there was a catch.
Like having to live underneath her obscenely hot brother who gets stoned and paints all night and says ridiculous things to the half-naked cop that barges into his apartment unannounced in the middle of the night.
Summary: Derek Hale is a Special Agent in the White Collar division of the FBI, with a crack team consisting of Agents Argent and McCall and, more recently, the consulting art thief, Stiles Stilinski. Trouble is, Stilinski’s in love with him. Or is it just another con?
Hey everyone! So first of all I’d like to apologise for not having posted any new fic rec lists in a long time. I’ve been incredibly busy and haven’t had time to stop and organise a list with a good amount of fics, but today is the day and I’m gonna give you an even longer list than the first two, as an apology for taking this long to post a new one.
Most of the fics will be short ones, because of the aforementioned being busy, but hopefully you will enjoy this list either way.
These fics will all be completed, varying in length and genres, and will include warnings if necessary.
Stiles holds his hand up to shield his eyes from the sinking sun, its orange-yellow light reflected infinitely across the vast, calm ocean. As utterly stunning asthe sunset over the Pacific is, especially while floating leisurely on a surfboard a few hundred feet from shore, it’s a mere backdrop that pales in comparison to who he’s looking at.
Derek Hale, whose eyes are their own oceans that Stiles feels like he’s been floating on since the first time they met. The older man’s eyes are as ever-changing and colorful as the sea they’ve spent the day on, a palette of greens and blues filigreed with gold around the pupils. And if that weren’t enough, the rest of Derek is also transcendentally exquisite: high, arching cheekbones and a chiseled jaw, although that particular perfection is a bit obscured these days by his ever-thickening beard, night-black like his hair, nearly shoulder-length but almost always knotted in a messy bun at the crown of his head.
“Don’t do it,” he mutters. “Don’t do it, please, don’t do it.”
But there it is, a soft pink line appearing right next to the control. Stiles’ legs give out from under him; he sinks to the bathroom floor, hands shaking, his entire body shaking. It’s hard to breathe, his vision blurring around the edges. There’s a knock on the door behind him and then it opens and Scott sits down next to him.
“I’m fucked,” Stiles gasps, tears prickling at his eyes. “I’m fucked!”
PROMPT—"Derek the super cranky florist delivery guy (it’s the family business!) and Stiles the underemployed, overeducated, bored as fuck receptionist. and obviously Stiles works with Allison, whose besotted fiance is always sending her flowers.“
With helpless crushes, stealthy pizza dates, Jenga, and overly-subtle declarations of intent.
Finding out that Beacon Hills was the home of the ONLY Werewolf Microbrewery changed Stiles and Scott’s lives. Gone were the days that Scott had to be Stiles’ DD, because finally he could drink. The icing on the cake was the fact that the owner of said bar just so happened to be none other than Derek Hale.
Stiles wanted nothing more than to push Derek against a mattress, or a table, or maybe a wall. Stiles wasn’t picky. He just knows that he wants him.

There’s a poster hanging in the window of the Beacon Hills library: brightly-colored depictions of children at desks, holding books, captioned, KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE. KNOW WHAT’S IN THEIR CLASSROOMS. Smaller text at the bottom reads, Paid for by citizens in support of the Mutant Registration Act.
Scott’s a freshman at Sky High, along with his best friends Stiles and Isaac. On his first day, he realises he has an archenemy: Derek Hale. By the end of the week, Scott’s discovered his superpower, is dating the most popular girl at school, and everything seems to be perfect. Even though he hardly sees Stiles and Isaac anymore.
Stiles is a freshman at Sky High, and on his first day, he is put on the Sidekick track with both Isaac and Scott. By the end of his first week, Scott’s spending all of his time with the supposedly perfect Allison, so Stiles and Isaac make friends with Derek Hale, Erica Reyes, and (first-name unknown) Boyd. (Friends is kind of a loosely applied term.)
Derek is a junior at Sky High, and only has friends because Erica’s too pushy to leave him alone, and where she goes, Boyd’s not far behind. His first day back finds him staring at Scott McCall, the son of the super that put his uncle in Beacon Hills Penitentiary. (He’s not staring at McCall’s friend, no matter what Erica thinks, even though he can recite how many moles he has within ten minutes.)
Derek Hale can read minds. If he could have chosen a mutant power for himself instead of being given one by random, genetic happenstance it’s safe to say mind-reading would not have been his 1st, 2nd, or even 96th choice.
Maybe if he’d gotten the power of invisibility he wouldn’t be sitting in a senior Economics class next to a hyperactive kid with a buzz cut who won’t stop thinking about dicks.
It’s been years since Derek escaped from the hunters who killed his family and bound him in his human form. He travels solo, never staying in one place, keeping under the radar–until a skinny, smart-mouthed kid stows away in the back of his truck.
Four months ago Stiles’s first kiss put his best friend in a coma. His dad gave him a couple hundred bucks and a hug and told him to run. By the time Stiles witnesses the cage fighter known as Wolverine take out a shotgun and its wielder with his bare hands, he’s got a plan. He knows there’s a school in New York for kids like him. All he has to do is get there.
OR, in which Derek is the werewolf version of Wolverine and Stiles is Rogue and the plot of X-Men progresses accordingly, with a few notable deviations.
Our protagonists are attending Beacon Hills Academy, an institution for ‘specials’. They’ve been detected early on, and some of them are showing spectacular abilities already. The Hales are a genetic mystery all together. Stiles, however, despite having being singled out as a kid, is nothing special. And he knows it. Circumstances and people – read Peter – conspire to put Stiles and Derek together. Changes ensue. Then all hell breaks loose.

Stiles has a very unique superpower, in that he doesn’t exist. He’s invisible, untouchable, unhearable-is that a word?-and just not there. He feels like a ghost most of the time, although he can’t walk through walls (he tried, the wall took offense and his nose paid the price) and he can still trip over his own feet. He blends perfectly into the background and no matter how hard he tries, nobody knows he’s there.
It’s a lonely life, he’s not gonna lie.
But suddenly something changes. Stiles is part of a group project which includes probably the most explosive combination of people in his class. These people don’t notice when he waves a hand right in front of their face-how could they when he doesn’t exist? The possibilities are endless.

He remembers his mother going out to protest in her “Proud Mom of a Special Child” shirt. He also remembers that she never came back.
In a deeply segregated city of the very rich and the very poor, a traumatized mutant turns up in Stiles’ dark alley, and turns his world upside down. While a terrorist known as the Mutant Maker attacks and turns unsuspecting citizens, Stiles and his strange new friend must help each other stay alive and one step ahead of the Hunters who would take them down.
