a moment of light, Mixed Media, April 2011

This was a site specific project at the Institution of Astronomy in Cambridge that was formed of two leafleting boxes filled with leaflets that had been screen printed with photochromic paint so that as you pulled the leaflet out of the box and into the light these words would appear.

On my first visit to Cambridge Institution of Astronomy we were given a lecture by Carolin Crawford. She told us how fragile are planet is and how easily planets and particles smash together, how without the Sun, Earth would not exist. Wooo right! I went away from this talk thinking about my life on this planet and how one day, any day I will die. To  contemplate death is to become unafraid of it and to cherish each day like it was my last.
