me: not for years, but I have an exquisitely plotted story in my head about how Sansa Stark serves as lady of winterfell and falls in love with another northern lady but she doesn’t realize it’s Love Love because she’s just like “what very good friends we are :)” and the other woman is really good at resource management and where to put latrines so people don’t get sick, and they work together and are best friends and maybe more?? Yes, more. It’s a fifteen episode miniseries about rebuilding after war, peacetime governance, and gentle gay love, sexuality, and trust. I have the camera angles all planned out. Arya is there, and she has twelve direwolves puppies that cause mischief. At some point, the whole north is like “There Must Always Be A Stark In Winterfell And It’s Fine If She’s A Lesbian”

These two quotes are probably the most important quotes from George because he plainly states that the story is not just about Jon/Dæny. George narrows them down to being only 10% of the story. Are they important? Yes. But so are a host of other characters.

Death does not make you stronger or nicer. Applying this to Jon, he is not the same and never will be.

Leaving Lady Stoneheart out was something George feels is a big mistake, we can assume that Lady Stoneheart is integral to the storyline in the unreleased books.

The Starks sparked the idea, and are at the very root of the story, but not the entire story. This also emphasizes that this book is not just about a bastard and dragon. +Bran is important, though the show fails to portray this.

I was living with these characters and this world for 16 years before we even started working on the show. They’re pretty fixed in my mind and I’m not going to change anything because of the show, or reaction to the show, or what fans think. Putting these quotes together because they’re implying similar things.
George has a view of where he’s going but that doesn’t mean things can’t be reimagined. For an example, George’s original outline is almost completely different from the books we have now, but a few parts of the outline are still there, but taking shape in different characters.

I wanted the Targaryen’s symbol to be the dragons, but I did play with the notion that maybe it was like a psionic power, that it was pyrokinesis — that they could conjure up flames with their minds. This quote brings the Season 7 scene with Jon and Theon to mind. Theon tells Jon that he always made the right decision, while Theon made the wrong decisions (choosing the Greyjoys over the Stark family that raised him). Jon will make the right decision.

Extremely Subtle and obscure hints; George’s bittersweet ending will not be predictable. Only a few people have figured out the ending. If your predicted ending involves ultimate good (humans) vs ultimate evil (others), you already lost.

Do you think she is still the girl she was in Season 1? Have you been ignoring her behaviour the past few episodes? Or in Spoils of War alone? She has thought of nothing but the North throughout this season.
Thinking ahead and preparing for not only the war that is to come, but the long Winter and how the Northerners with weather it.
When she questions Jon? It’s because she believes him to be the King he is, and wants him to live long enough to rule it, unlike Robb. He is the first family she has seen in years, she doesn’t want him to leave Winterfell, or her.
Those saying she is power hungry? She did not offer Bran Jon’s title, she offered him hers. Because he has every birthright to be the Lord of Winterfell, but he isn’t their King.
And when her sister is finally home. She acknowledges that Jon loves Arya more than words can describe. And she knows how deeply Arya cared for Jon, look at the smile on this precious muffins face at that prospect of seeing her favourite sibling. Sansa made that genuine smile happen.
Sansa has offered nothing but wise counsel based on her knowledge she has obtained through her toxic situation in King’s Landing. She is making the most of what she has learned in the Capital to ensure the security of her people and family. She can even conceal her emotions exceedingly well.
She knows what needs to be done, and she knows how people think. The look she gives Lyanna, isn’t only an impressed and satisfied one. But a knowing one. She knows every able bodied person must be provided for and prepared for the Long Night.
That’s why I think, while watching Brienne and Arya spar, she gives that look. It’s not one of jealousy like so many people are saying. It’s one of fear. She hides it behind her trained facade, but she see’s Arya fighting with such skill, and she knows, especially with that Valyrian steel dagger, Arya will be on the front lines with Jon. She doesn’t want to lose her family again.
