Sanrio’s delightfully adorable feline friend, Hello Kitty, is an international kawaii icon who has been part of their character lineup since 1974. She is a multi-billion dollar brand, so, a theme park presence was a no-brainer. In addition to appearing at both Japan’s Sanrio Puroland and Sanrio Harmonyland, Hello Kitty now has her very own theme park in China. Shown here is a concept for the entrance plaza done by The Hettema Group. Although never built as such, the colorful art captures the fun, lovable style that has made Hello Kitty the cutest cat in town.
I wrote a first-hand guide to thetop offbeat places to visit in Japan! It includes maps, links, money-saving tips, and photos. It’s 100% FREE, and beautifully presented on Medium’s platform. Check it out here!
Oh, something I forgot about yesterday’s show. Since next year will be the REAL 10th year anniversary for Vesperia, the cast were joking about having a fancy dinner party. Where everyone (including all of us) comes to Yokohama Arena in fancy clothes and eats dinner and goes home. (The image of this absolutely cracks me up. Moving on.)
Okay, I am just going to say it, today was sooooo much better that yesterday ahaha. I enjoyed it a lot. But now I will have hell remembering everything and will probably be editing this post for the next few hours….
it’s not that all Sanrio shops deal in Sanriomatsu merch.
these aren’t available at the shops in department stores, only directly-managed shops of Sanrio in major cities have sold these.(in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, etc.)
i’ve heard that Sanriomatsu merch has also been available at Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo and Harmony Land in Oita. (theme parks of Sanrio Characters)
if you can’t find any Sanrio shops selling the merch in Japan, then visit Animate.
they have sold some of Sanriomatsu merch too.
