Mayday Parade: A Lesson In Romantics 10th Anniversary Tour

“I’ll be here by the ocean just waiting for proof that there’s sunsets and silhouette dreams. All my sandcastles fall like the ashes of cigarettes and every wave drags me to sea.”

It was such an amazing experience hearing my favorite band, MAYDAY PARADE (for the first time) sing this song live. I’ve been a fan because of their heart-wrenching lyrics, the way they write their songs is just… art. (Oh, just look at their lyrics and see for yourself.) It’s been more than 24 hours since I saw them and now I’m getting the PCD. I even made a Spotify playlist of their setlist and listened to it over and over again.

What made the experience more memorable is having such a sweet company. I was screaming my lungs and heart out and he was just looking and smiling (and laughing) at me. My favorite part of the concert was when they played ‘Stay’ and 'Terrible Things’. Those were such sad songs but the crowd was singing along and a short moment after, I realized I was in the middle of a sea of lights and I started to drown with this unexplainable happiness inside my heart that felt like it was going to explode anytime with feathers coming out of my chest.

#PostConcertDepression

I still can’t believe I was able to see them live. And I don’t know how to end this post… Probably with lyrics from their encore.

“I’ll keep you warm, safe in my arms. 'Til heaven calls, keep holding on…”

And I'll be here by the ocean just waiting for proof

That there's sunsets and silhouette dreams
All my sandcastles fall like the ashes of cigarettes
And every wave drags me to sea
I could stand here for hours just to ask God the question
"Is everyone here make believe?"
With a tear in His voice, he says "Son, that's the question."
Does this deafening silence mean nothing
To no one but me?
