Following on from this post, here are some potential native Australian reptiles and amphibians that might be used as prefixes. Be sure to research appearances and locations of each plant you want to use, as Australia is a large, diverse continent.

Keep in mind also that these are only some of the native possibilities. There are many, many other creatures, both native and introduced, that might work as prefixes.

Lyall Bay in a mean Nor’-Wester

Nobody on the beach today except the hardened dog-walkers. And us. The waves were too puny to tempt the surfers, and the wind kept whipping up sand-devils that stung our faces and left grit in our mouths. But I love the strait in this looming grey mood, when the water turns to molten lead at the horizon.


I have been doing art and stuff lately to help cope with some depression issues. You will never guess what I happened to be watching when I did these. haha. Anyways, I posted them in the order that I did them. These are my first attempts with watercolors – I don’t think I did too awful. Anyways, I just wanted to share my progress. I’m trying to decided which ones to do next – if you have any ideas please send them to me and I’ll see what I can do.
