hella yummy san francisco-based zamartisanchocolates is local to me. i need to find a stockist … or just order some treats on etsy!! whether you like fruity and chewy candy, sticky caramels, or chocolates, they’ve got what you’re craving.
Sometimes I imagine taking a walk with him. I imagine leading him behind the school and into the trees. I imagine stomping on his skull until all his fine, sharp features have turned to pulp. Until all the parts of him that are too familiar disappear.
Hey guys! I’m now selling prints of my work on Society6! I would love to be able to save money in order to get access to higher quality equipment, and by purchasing any of these prints, a large portion goes to funding that dream as well as being able to polish my portfolio and be ready for a career after high school and college. Thank you all for your support, and I hope you love these prints and consider purchasing one!
How did you end up making a career out of playing video games?
i faked it for a really, really long time. like, truthfully, no one ever *hired* me specifically to do this shit until last month - i was hired as a social media guy at Revision3, but took every opportunity i could for two years to sneak my way into videos, and by the time i left, my title was “host / producer.” i very literally faked it til i made it. i think everyone does!
another thing: be super annoying. send obnoxious emails to the people you wanna work for. do dumb shit and get noticed. i got my Giant Bomb internship by making this stupid fan video, then figuring out who was in charge of hiring interns at Whiskey Media and bugging the shit out of him for, like, ever. eventually, he posted an internship notice saying the job was for San Francisco locals only. i ignored that, applied anyway, got the gig, worked at a GameStop all summer to save up, flew out there and did it.
there are a million other things that factor into it: opportunity, luck, privilege, connections. but - and this is easy for me to say, i guess - but if it’s a job you really want, make sure you’re doing actual, concrete things to progress toward making it real. that’s my advice!
Zendaya Celebrates Unveiling of Two New Figures for Madame Tussauds
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Oakland-born singer, actress, and dancer Zendaya will return to the Bay
Area to unveil not one, but two new wax figures at Madame Tussauds San
Francisco on Nov. 21. The second figure will be featured in Madame
Tussauds Orlando. By unveiling two figures, Zendaya shares a unique
honor with an exclusive group of celebrities who have received an
outstanding number of fan requests for their figures to be featured in
multiple Madame Tussauds attractions.
The 19-year-old star met with skilled studio artists in June where she
underwent the unique experience of a Madame Tussauds sitting, capturing
her expressions, poses, taking more than 250 measurements and matching
eye color and hair color. Keen to reflect her own hip and edgy style on
both figures, Zendaya donated the pink Material Girl dress, which
she wore to the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. For her second figure,
Madame Tussauds worked with one of her favorite designers Rubin Singer
to recreate the look she wore to the 2014 BMI Hip Hop R&B
“Working with the Madame Tussauds team was such an amazing honor, they
really took the time to capture every detail, including all the natural
features that make up the real me,” said Zendaya. “It feels even more
special to know that my beautiful fans worked so hard to make this
happen and I’m excited to see how they will react to my new figures in
San Francisco and Orlando.“
Known for her starring role as K.C. Cooper on the hit Disney Channel
show K.C. Undercover, Zendaya’s outspokenness about one’s ability
to accept and love themselves has made her a spokesperson for body
acceptance and individual beauty.
Zendaya previously co-starred on Shake It Up, another Disney
Channel series for three seasons as well as several Disney Channel
original movies. She was the youngest contestant on ABC’s Dancing
with the Stars for its 16th season and finished in second
place with dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy. She is currently working on
her second studio album, a follow-up to her self-titled debut album
released in 2013.
Named one of TIME Magazine’s Most Influential Teens of 2015,
Zendaya has led discussions on body positivity and wider perceptions of
female beauty through her graceful responses to controversial comments
on her Oscar appearance, and more recently, challenging a magazine for
its extensive photo retouching of her image. With a social media
presence that won her the 2014 BMI Social Star Award, Zendaya is an
empowering, inspiring icon for young people everywhere.
“Madame Tussauds has a 200 year history of honoring people who are
changing our society in a positive way,” said Chris Connors, general
manager of Madame Tussauds San Francisco. “We are delighted to celebrate
a strong woman with roots in the Bay Area.”
Madame Tussauds San Francisco has partnered with local radio station
WiLD 94.9 to give fans an opportunity to win one of six invitation-only
meet-and-greet passes to attend the November 21 figure unveiling. The
event will be livestreamed on Periscope, and will include a special Q&A
session with Zendaya, hosted by WiLD 94.9’s Gabby Diaz.
