Why I’m Here: I suffered in silence with depression, PTSD, and self-harm for ten years. One morning I woke up and found the courage to ask for help and because of that I am happier and stronger than I ever imagined was possible during my darkest days. I want to share my story with others who are struggling, to show them that pain is a universal experience that connects us all and no one is ever alone, despite what the voice in your head tells you. I am a living example that things get better.
Stuff I Like: The Golden State Warriors, the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, sleeping, cooking new recipes, writing letters, spontaneous dance parties, music festivals, serenading the passengers in my car, long drives, hiking, tacos, playing and watching sports, surprising my friends, musical theater, sarcasm, kickboxing, chocolate, camping, stand up comedy, tattoos, board games, funny socks, making people laugh, road trips, inside jokes, roller coasters, and 1 AM conversations.
I would most likely stuff the office fridge with: Every type of potato dish you can imagine, guacamole, pesto lasagna, and arroz con pollo burritos. Banana bread and Honey Nut Cheerios as well, although they tend to taste better at room temperature.
If my music is on, I’m listening to: mash ups and song covers. If I ever get out of that vortex, you’ll find me listening to: Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Beyonce, Fetty Wap, Kendrick Lamar, Outkast, Kanye West, JAY Z, Snoop Dogg, Mac Dre, the Weeknd, Flume, the Chainsmokers, Vanic, Diplo, Calvin Harris, Dillon Francis, Zedd, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine, Sia, Taylor Swift, Halsey, Jessie J, the Fray, Amy Winehouse, Maroon 5, Sara Bareilles, Betty Who, Jess Glyne, Paramore, Sublime, Dirty Heads, All American Rejects, the Weeks (thanks to DJ Limelyfe), No Doubt, and the Backstreet Boys (obviously). Honorable mention: The Wicked Soundtrack
Outside of the office, I’m most likely: Watching the Golden State Warriors break NBA records, scrolling through Twitter, playing basketball, rock climbing, taking Buzzfeed quizzes, riding a scooter around the neighborhood, aimlessly driving and blasting music, cooking, and catching up on the unhealthy amount of television shows I watch.
If you had a free plane ticket, where would you go? I spent 48 hours in Dublin last summer, and I’d love to go back to Ireland and spend some time exploring the entire country. I have relatives that live on a small farm, and it would be a dream to meet them. Kissing the Blarney Stone is definitely on my bucket list.
If you could guest star on any TV show, what would it be and why? Bob’s Burgers because I’d want to help Tina write some Erotica Friend Fiction and take Louise’s rabbit ear hat off of her head. We’ve been waiting long enough to see what’s underneath that hat. Also, who wouldn’t want to be an animated character? Chopped would be great too. I already take random things from the kitchen and attempt to make something edible, so why not try to win some money in the process?
If you had one superpower, what would it be and why? I’d definitely want to talk to animals. My dogs have seen some things, and I need to hear all about it. Think of all the insight animals could give us! I’m sure flying isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be and great white sharks are probably just terribly misunderstood.
