Faux PETA Advertisements; Anti-Exotic Animal Skins; appropriation exercise.

This was for my Design Process Module, to create an appropriated work of whatever you wanted. I appropriated iconic fashion items that used exotic animal skins. I printed the black outlines of the iconic items on transparency and overlaid it on the painting.

So excited about these ideas I have. They are based around this visual appreciation for order that I have – I am dissecting it apart and quite literally piecing things together my way. I envision an oversized silhouette that is visually smooth and fluid.

Designs for ODDS, making it work. We try to merge both me and my colleague’s ideas together. We’ve already started drafting and sewing of a few looks. This internship is amazing!!

Earthly Equations 1-4, Mixed Medium

This was for my Design Process module; I continued experimenting with aesthetics using the combination of Maggi Hambling’s wave paintings and Bill Jacobson’s place series to come up with this. The square hip silhouette was something I always envisioned and I thought the contrast of the wave collage really brought the piece together..

This is an illustration for a friend, I promised her I’d draw one. Idk, I thought this might inspire her to take charge of her life somehow and make a change for herself. The dress in the drawing is from one of my very first few collection sketches, it is as of now in its 3rd reincarnation~
