sam gets home after a tough day at the VA and steve makes him cocoa and bucky rubs his shoulders and they sit quietly while he talks about his day (obviously not the vets themselves, confidentiality), listening intently and making sympathetic noises because some of the most important hero work sam does is down at the VA but it’s not an easy job, and when he’s all talked out they both kiss him on the cheek and cuddle up together, and they’re always there for each other even when having each other’s back doesn’t mean shooting at bad guys but instead is listening and supporting someone you love when they need to talk
