That is a type II Salter-Harris fracture. It’s hard to see the chip off the metaphysis, but that little chip is the reason it’s type II.
Five major types of Salter-Harris fractures:
I - Through growth plate
II - Through growth plate and metaphysis
III - Through growth plate and epiphysis
IV - Involving growth plate, epiphysis and metaphysis
V - Compression of growth plate
There are nine total types, but VI through IX are rare.
Mnemonic: “Two-three. M-E.” Types II and III are through metaphysis and epiphysis, respectively.
