Sage EBR

Springfield Armory M1A Scout in the Sage EBR chassis. One thing to note before buying just the chassis, especially if second-hand, make sure you get the right model for your M14/M1A. There is a different EBR chassis for heavy barreled rifles, which won’t fit or work in the EBR that accepts only standard and medium weight contour barrels. (GRH)

Sage EBR

A chassis for the M14/M1A platform, making it a modernized main battle rifle in a largely DMR role. The chassis itself isn’t that expensive, usually around $1,000 or less, but adding in the rifle and quality optics can easily push into the $3,000 to $4,000+ range. (GRH)

The United States Navy Mark 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle (EBR) is an American selective fire military designated marksman rifle chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. It is a variant of the M14 battle rifle and was originally built for use with units of the United States Special Operations Command, such as the United States Navy SEALs, Delta Force, and task specific ODA units.

Sage EBR

Although they’re generally referred to as the EBR chassis, there are specific variants with their own designations based on configuration. This one looks to be an old EBR M14ALCS due to the somewhat retro-style pistol grip. Current EBR M14ALCS’s have the soft Ergo grip. Some people prefer the old grip due to its more aggressive appearance versus the “marshmallow” look of the Ergo. Sage made the older grips in house but no longer does, and since no other company makes a copy (even though it’s styled after a Choate grip), they’re rare and collectable. (GRH)

Sage EBR M1A

A drop in chassis for the Springfield Armory M1A, it modernizes the original platform. The Sage EBR however does not fit with certain configurations; if you want to install a heavier barrel, you have to buy the correct model chassis since they aren’t universal to all M14 variations. Although all Sage EBR’s have the cut-out for the selector switch, they also sell a plug to cover it up for civilian semi-auto rifles. (GRH)
