This beautiful Salon Doré from 18th Century France, now in San Francisco’s Palace of Legion of Honor - Fine Arts Museum was brought to California to furnish “La Dolphine” - Hillsborough, CA. It was originally created in 1792 for the Hôtel de la Trémeoil in Paris. It was at one point owned by Otto Khan and installed in his NYC Palazzo (now the Sacred Heart School). The room has been around a lot but now is home in San Francisco, CA ironically in a museum modelled after France’s famous Legion of Honor Palace. This Salon Doré has recently undergone an expensive and thorough restoration process that took several years making it a highlight of any tour of the Fine Arts Museum.
(NOTE) Harriett Carolan ordered similar gilt boisserie for her Ballroom at her chateau, Carolands in 1914 but perhaps due to World War I, they never made it to the US.
George Harrison’s Friar Park estate in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. The Friar Park estate was owned by Sir Frank Crisp from 1875 until his death in 1919. It then passed on to Roman Catholic nuns belonging to the Salesians of Don Bosco order. The nuns ran a local school in Henley, the Sacred Heart School, but by the late 1960s Friar Park was in a state of disrepair and due to be demolished. Then George saved it.
After being reprimanded for violating dress code by his principal, 13-year-old John Sirola left Sacred Heart School in Redlands, California on January 23, 1995 only to return a little over an hour later carrying a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun. He stormed into the principal’s office and blasted him in the face. The principal didn’t die, but had to go through nearly 30 surgeries to reconstruct the entire left side of his face.
It is believed Sirola tripped on the rainy walkway just outside the school, and the gun discharged, fatally wounding him in the chest.

Our principal, who loves Harry Potter so much decided to have houses in school like Hogwarts:
Every year, our school project is to read Harry Potter books and she’d give us a test about them. I think I scored 97% last last year. We read Sorcerer’s stone.
And of course, each house has their own house shirts, I think it was the year 2004 wherein she printed out House Shirts with the pictures the cast from Harry Potter as patches in the upper right corner. As a Stargazer, we had Hermione Granger.
Also, we had House Points and held the Spirit Queen Cup, where like in Hogwarts, we have house points and all sorts of stuff.
AND THAT IS WHY I LOVE MY SCHOOL. SO MUCH. >:D< I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.
