It’s a story my brother told me when we were kids. The East Wind is a terrifying force that lays waste to all in its path. It seeks out the unworthy and plucks them from the earth. That was generally me.
Sherlock gently holding his violin and brushing against his edges, stroking his arm like a bow upon string while wrapping his hand around his neck, placing him under his chin, knowing all the right notes to play (and words to say).
Putting a tracker in the flash drive was John’s idea. That means Sherlock went to John before the meeting in the hideout, and involved John in every step he took. Sherlock and John decided what to do together.
Sherlock trusted and respected John enough to never leave him out again (learned his lesson after the Fall). Mary make unilateral decisions for the both of them, she doesn’t respect or believe in John enough.
John was right, talking things through is what couples do. Sherlock and John talked things through, John and Mary did not. I’ll leave you to your deductions
everyone i have spoken to, fans or casuals, have said that they felt like the episode was instinctively off. their intuition kicked in to tell them that things weren’t right and literally in the episode sherlock tells us that intuition is important and that we should trust it. they planned this reaction.
