Do you think you could recommend some cool bug-related books? Any type of arthropod would be great but especially insects and arachnids!

I don’t read a lot of nonfiction tbh but here’s a few that I liked!

  • The Dangerous World of Butterflies by Peter Laufer
  • The Smaller Majority by  Piotr Naskrecki (includes insects among other animals)

  • For Love of Insects by Thomas Eisner

  • The Forgotten Pollinators by Stephen L. Buchmann &  Gary Paul Nabhan

  • An Obsession with Butterflies -  Sharman Apt Russell
We may need to be cured by flowers. We may need to strip naked and let the petals fall on our shoulders, down our bellies, against our thighs. We may need to lie naked in fields of wildflowers. We may need to walk naked through beauty. We may need to walk naked through color. We may need to walk naked through scent. We may need to walk naked through sex and death. We may need to feel beauty on our skin. We may need to walk the pollen path, among the flowers that are everywhere.

An extended trailer of “Apartment 4E” before it was picked up for distribution & retitled.

If you’ve seen the film you’ll notice by Nicole Beharie’s performances this clip includes alternate takes of scenes.

“Chris is the kind of actor who will do it the same way every time, and that is a gift. That is a challenge. So in terms of matching and continuity, you know what you’re going to get. He makes choices and he’s very consistent and that is great.

Nicole is an actor who I’m sure can do that but gives you so much more. So every take can be different as she’s trying things out. And again, since we didn’t have [much] rehearsal a lot of the energy spent on set was trying out things and trying things different ways. And by the time we got into editing, we could choose 5 different versions of the character in any different scene, and really be able to craft an arc for the character.”
