Word Count: 2043
Summary: Y/n and Steve were long time best friends who later turned to lovers. Unfortunately their love didn’t last as long as they intended since life chose to mess with them. He had to say Goodbye to his best friend and girlfriend.
Steve Harrington was in love with one person, Y/n Y/l/n. They were an inseparable couple, that was until Y/n passed away. It hurt Steve so much. He believed that since they had closed the Upside Down that they would all be safe again. He didn’t lose Y/n to the Upside Down but he did by a stupid car accident. It’s the day before the funeral and he can’t sleep. He misses Y/n’s voice, before going to bed they would always call each other. They were best friends before they became a couple. He’s just laying in bed reminiscing on the major moments of their relationship.
First Time Meeting: Y/n was the new person in town. They had just moved to Hawkins, Indiana and they were just about done unpacking their things into their new home. While getting settled down in their new home the bell had rang. When her parents opened the door they were greeted by another family, The Harringtons. They had a son her age, Steve Harrington who was also 8 years old like herself. Her family had invited them inside to have some dinner and they accepted. Y/n and Steve sat next to each other talking while their parents did the same. Everyone clicked with one another. This was a friendship that wouldn’t end.
Steve couldn’t help but let a chuckle leave his lips. Y/n was always thinking and talking about when they first met. She was in love with that memory because it was the beginning of everything between them. It was the new beginning that eight-year-old never knew she needed. Another memory that he thought about was when he realized he had a crush on her.
Steve realizing his crush on Y/n: By this time it had been 6 years. They were now 14 years old, the age where crushes develop and breaks your heart. Every time Steve was with Y/n they would always have a fun time. They talked, watched movies, ate, and just relaxed in comfortable silence. To them those feelings they had when with each other was new, and weird. Steve realized he has been extremely happy whenever he was near her. No matter what she did he would always feel this strong bit of happiness. Being away from her made him constantly think about her. He never knew what that meant, he just assumed he always misses her. That was until Steve decided to ask his parents about what he was feeling. They told him about how they came together, they both had that feeling and they had that feelings with other people. They told him that at his age it’s a crush.
-“You like the person a little more than how you would a friend. Sometimes it goes away unless you’re in love with them. Love and Crushes are completely different. Love has a stronger meaning and a crush is something you can get over.”
-“How would I know if I have a crush on someone or if I’m in love?”
-“You’re 14 right now, when you get older you’ll just know by this tingly feeling. Trust us son. If it’s small like how you described it, it’s just a crush, but if you feel this longer than usual and you get this electric feeling it’s love.”
Steve laid down and just thought about how love and relationships are so weird. He never would’ve thought he would be in one, let alone with his best friend.
Steve smiled at his parents explanation. He always thought about their words every time he was with someone. Did this person make him feel any electricity? Did they make him happier than ever? No. He only felt that with one person, Y/n, his best friend. He started to remember when he realized that his crush was definitely love.
Steve realizing his crush on Y/n was actually love: Steve and Y/n were now 17. He always felt this pang of jealousy whenever she had a boyfriend and he knew that it was just a crush. He thought he would get over it. Steve grew up knowing the difference, but he just had this saying in the back of his head saying that he shouldn’t be in love with his best friend. They were friends and that’s all they were. He kept telling himself he’ll get over her eventually, but that never happened. They would always hang out together, even when one of them had a significant other. They headed to Y/n’s house and she began to do her homework, she had always been the person who did what they were told. I wouldn’t say she was a goody two shoes cos she did have that rebellious part of her as well. She was very much serious about school cos ever since she was young she knew what she was going to do. Steve preferred having fun because he lives in the moment. While Y/n was doing homework, Steve was busy being weird and messing around making her laugh. Everything he did she would laugh even harder. He felt this rush of emotions, he felt happy, he finally felt the electricity. While Y/n was busy laughing, he was staring at her with a look of love. He’s finally accepting that he can be in love with his best friend, he finally realizes he needs to be with her cos he’s in love with her.
This time Steve has a tear escaping his eye. He was so in love with her, he’s angry with himself that he held this feeling for so long. She always knew his feelings for her were always there. He made sure to tell her all the time when they were dating. Steve’s next memory was when he finally asked her out, not only did he ask her, but they also had their first kiss together.
Steve finally asked Y/n out and shared their first kiss together: Y/n’s parents were out of town on a business trip, so she invited her best friend over to accompany her at dinner. They were just eating food and had a nice and simple conversation. When they finished eating Steve decided that he needs to do something. They were just enjoying the presence of one another and having so much fun with one another. Steve remembered something about Y/n. She was ticklish, so while she was speaking he decided to tickle her. He lunged forward on her couch and began his tickle attack. She was a laughing and squirming mess. They were both laughing and Steve continued his actions. As soon as he got tired their laughter began to die out and now Steve was just on top of her. They stared at each other. Their gaze shifted from their eyes to their lips.
“It’s now or never Steve.” Steve leaned down and placed a kiss on her lips, it was slow and soft and passionate. When Steve finally pulled away he had enough confidence.
-”Will you go on a date with me?”
This time Y/n leaned up to kiss Steve, finally releasing the love they have for each other.
At this point Steve was releasing more tears than before. This was his favorite memory, him finally getting the girl he loved oh so much. He had two key memories of their relationship left. He was hoping that he would feel better thinking about the good things in their life and quite frankly, he doesn’t know if it’s working.
Steve and Y/n’s first “I love you.”: At this point they have been together for 6 months. They were walking through the park, to head to her house, hand in hand, just talking and laughing. This was the best moment to him. He always loved their simple dates, he just needed to be with her to be happy. Hearing her speak excitedly about something that happened was his favorite thing. She was stopped from her talk when she was pulled back. Steve stopped walking. She was busy talking to notice that they had arrived to her house and she just giggled. Her parents were gone again, but she didn’t want to stay home. They were now inside her house in her room and Y/n continued her story. Steve was laughing and just enjoying her being herself. He abruptly grabbed her and she let a giggle leave her lips.
-”You okay Steve?”
Steve just stared into her eyes and finally spoke.
-”I’m so in love with you.”
She stared into Steve’s eyes and let a smile take over. She leaned forward and kissed him. When she pulled apart from the kiss she said those words back making him really happy.
-”I’m so in love with you too.”
This time Steve kissed Y/n with so much passion and love. He laid her down on her bed and continued their kiss. He was ontop of her and the kiss didn’t end there.
Steve smiled at the memory. He was crying now. He missed her more than anything. Her touch, her voice, her laugh, her kiss, her smile, her in general. He just needed her back. He’s at his final memory. Their last one.
Their final moment: They have been together for a year. Steve had been keeping something from Y/n and she wanted to know what. She has seen him speak to Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers. Y/n has always been nice to them both and she was worried to know what their big secret was. Especially after the Byers’ family lost their child, she was relieved when they found Will, but she is skeptical over their talks. They always get quiet and change the topic when she gets there and quite frankly Y/n was tired of the secrecy. She had went to his place to confront him and he wouldn’t budge for her safety. Their argument wouldn’t die down and she was just tired and hurt. She had left his house and drove wherever her car took her. Steve was angry and just wanted to tell her the truth but he wanted her to be safe. He didn’t expect to be dragged into this again. When he was with Dustin he found out about another demogorgon and he was worried. They had this big plan and were setting it up. He never expected to see his girlfriend sitting on the floor of the junkyard, crying. He decided to tell her the truth no matter what Dustin said. She gladly helped the kids and Steve and was hoping that this would make her feel better after the argument. It did. She decided to help them and after they had one last moment. Before she left to pick up her parents they had a final talk. It started with a kiss, Steve needed to know that she still loved him and the kiss would show it. It did. She pulled away and looked into Steve’s eyes.
-”We’ll talk about this tomorrow Steve. I love you so much.” Steve kissed her one more time with so much passion and pulled away.
-”I love you so much.”
He watched as she went to her car and drove off to get her parents. He just never expected that he would lose her. Steve was about ready to fall asleep when he heard the phone. It was Y/n’s parents. They told Steve what happened and Steve felt like he couldn’t breathe. She died. Steve felt like he lost everything. He never wanted to say goodbye like this. He broke down and let himself cry.
Steve remembered your last day like nothing. You were supposed to be safe, he was supposed to be safe. He was hoping that this was some sick dream and that you would walk in and kiss him, but it never happened. A month since the accident and tomorrow is the day he’ll have to say goodbye. As a teardrop left his eyes he couldn’t help but speak one last thing before waiting for sleep to take over.
“You said we would be forever. Why did you have to leave me? I never wanted to say goodbye.”
Request: Can I request where the reader is the most beautiful Hogwarts student and falls in love with Draco? - Anon
(Author’s Note: About to write in third person and I never do that so just bare with me. I also didn’t stick to the request very well, in fact I don’t think this can even apply to this request but oh well. (it’s five am, don’t judge))
Draco has always liked (Y/N) (Y/L/N) for her personality and her’s is a friendship which he values above most but when she walked off the train at the start their fifth year his stomach had sort of done a front flip because, wow, she was beautiful.
“When did (Y/N) get so… pretty?” Draco asks Blaise in potions , his eyes having wandered toward the Slytherin girl sat next to Daphne Greengrass.
“Mate, you’ve just noticed?” He asks with a frown. “Are you blind?”
Thinking back on it, maybe (Y/N) has always been pretty, maybe Draco just didn’t notice, but how? How could Draco have missed the way her hair falls so perfectly onto her shoulder or the way her eyes seem to hold an entire universe in them.
Maybe he was blind.
When (Y/N)’s eyes lift and meet his they both turn away instantly, trying and failing to hide their crimson cheeks.
(Y/N) has for several years now, been a good friend of Draco’s and has always found a little bit of her heart leaning towards him but since when has she caught him staring at her during potions,? Since when did they switch places in that scenario?
(Y/N) knows that Draco has… issues. She knows that Draco can be mean, rude and genuinely an arrogant pig but she also knows that deep down, Draco is caring, sweet and really a big softy. How is she supposed to control a crush on the boy when she knows all that?
The problem with liking your friend is it can get awkward, especially when they start to like you too and it gets even more awkward when neither of you can realise that the other likes them.
“Hey,(Y/N).” Draco greets as the girl walks into the Slytherin common room.
“Hi, Draco.” (Y/N) smiles and Draco’s heart seems to beat faster in his chest because , when did that smile become so… cute.
(Y/N) takes a seat across from him and he realises he has no idea what to say.
“Uh, was dinner good?” He says, cursing himself for such a ridiculous question.
“Yeah, it was fine- Daco, are you okay? You seem distracted.” (Y/N) asks.
“I’m fine why wouldn’t I be?"He asks, too quick for it be reassuring to (Y/N).
"I don’t know, you’re just acting oddly…”
“I’m perfectly fine.” He manages, hoping the dim light of the common room will hide his annoying blush.
It doesn’t, in fact it makes (Y/N) blush too because it is Draco showing his soft side again, the side of Draco that she loves.
“Okay then… I uh, have homework to do so I’ll talk to you later.” (Y/N) states awkwardly.
“Okay, see you later.” Draco repeats, turning to the side to hide the blush which (Y/N) can still very much see on his pale cheeks but she only nods before crawling upstairs in a rush of sheer awkwardness.
“Just ask him out, you’ve been crushing on him for five years now. plus you’re super pretty, he cant say no.” Ginny instructs (Y/N), like asking out Draco would be as easy as pie.
(Y/N) had decided to sit at the Gryffindor table today to talk to her Weasley friend while The Golden Trio were away scheming what ever dangerous thing they can do this year.
“Four years, he was an arse in first year.” (Y/N) corrects and the fire haired girl rolls her eyes.
“He’s still an arse."Ginny re-corrects.
“Oh, speaking of lover boy, he’s staring again.” Ginny smirks as her friend whips around to meet the stormy grey eyes of Draco himself before turning to face Ginny again, blushing wildly.
“My word, you two are oblivious.” Is all Ginny can say.
It goes on for another month, the awkward conversations, the accidental hand touching and the constant blushing. It doesn’t stop until Blaise and Ginny both manage to tolerate each other long enough to create a plan to lock Draco and (Y/N) in the potions classroom ( with a charm so they cant unlock it, duh) so they can work out their undying love for each other.
(Y/N) is already waiting in the classroom when Draco walks in, clutching a small bit of paper, identical to the one she herself is holding. It all clicks together when the door slams shut behind Draco and no matter how much force he exerts it doesn’t open.
“I swear to god Ginny.”(Y/N) mutters under her breath.
“I’m going to kill Zabini.” Draco exhales.
The two share a look before Draco let’s out a long sigh.
“We might as well give them what they want or we’ll never get out.”
(Y/N)’s mind is all over the place for a moment. She knows what Ginny wants and she doesn’t find it at all appropriate to do in Snape’s classroom but then she removes her head from the gutter and her lips form and ‘o’ shape.
“I uh-” She starts but her friends voice from outside the classroom shouts a crude instruction.
“Just make out already!”
“Shut up!” (Y/N) shouts back, pinching the bridge of her nose between her fingers.
“Yeah and don’t even start Zabini!” Draco hollers causing a giggle to escape (Y/N) pink lips.
The two share a look before bursting into laughter.
“I can’t believe those two are working together to play matchmaker.” Draco laughs and (Y/N) can only nod in agreement.
“Well someone needed to take action since you two cant accept that you are deeply in love.” Ginny calls and this time the awkwardness returns, causing the blush to return to (Y/N)’s face and a silence fill the room.
“She’s right- about me at least.” (Y/N) mumbles, avoiding any unnecessary eye contact with Draco, who at this moment is trying really hard to contain his excitement.
“Really?” He grins.
Clearly not heard enough.
“Uh, yeah, I have for a while now but you don’t nee-”
She is cut off by Draco’s lips being pressed to her’s.
“Me too.” He says simply when they pull apart.
They can only smile at each other before their lips collide again, Draco’s hands on (Y/N)’s waist and her arms draped over his shoulders.
“Fuck yeah!” Ginny cheers from the now open door, Blaise at her side grinning from ear to ear but the couple don’t pull apart until Snape appears behind the plotters in the doorway.
“What is going on here?” He asks monotonously.
“Love, Sir.” Blaise answers, earning himself a detention for a week.
request: Yay! I’m so happy you’re back! Could you do headcanons for all of the Evan characters and an s/o who wears glasses?
a/n: i don’t want to include roanoke because rory was in there for so little and mott is just hard to write these things for
tate would think your glasses are the cutest things ever. he would always watch you as you would read or write poetry and wait for those little moments where the glasses slid down and you would absentmindedly tuck them back up with the back of your wrist. but his favorite time with your glasses would be when he’d get really close to you and be about to kiss you but slowly reach up and slide them off so that there is nothing between him and your sparkling eyes.
kit would call you his “smarty” he thought your round rims made you look really intelligent especially with the round doe eyes behind them. he adopted you in the asylum and swore to protect you, if loving you wasn’t enough he would always be running after the people who did you wrong. one day you remembered being in the main room and one of the more aggressive men came over and tried to proposition you. of course you said no, but he got angry and hit you, knocking off your glasses. “You don’t touch the girl I love, I will KILL you.” kit threw a punch and then rushed to you picking up your glasses and inspecting your face, but you had bigger priorities, “do you know what you just said?” he smirked “what? about killing him, or loving you. because both are true”
kyle is just such a goofball that he would always be taking off your glasses and putting them on, “Ha her, I er have a lot of calculus homework to do” “Kyle, you are mean.” he’d call you his little dork and often pretend to “fix” invisible glasses on his face. he’d lovingly call you four eyes and every other name in the book for people with glasses. but his absolute favorite little habit would be when you tuck your hair behind your ear to show your face. if you got contacts he would almost seem upset and ask where his dork went while wearing your glasses. he’d also do that annoying thing where people put your glasses on and then say, “omg you really can’t see” because he knows it bothers you.
jimmy would have noticed your glasses first when you walked into the diner he was in to pick up some food for the group. he thought they were ~groovy~ and made you seem like you had some secrets and he was determined to find them out. jimmy is chivalrous and so being a girl and also having glasses he was very protective of his “breakable baby”. you’d hate being called that but he always would wink when he said it so you couldn’t be mad for more than a few seconds.
james would think that your glasses make you look polished and sexy when you are doing business but he didn’t like you to wear them when it was just you two. he’d argue that he wants to see your beautiful eyes without having to look through a lens. when iris tells him about contacts he would have her order them for you so that his queen could see him but he could also see her eyes for what they are.
I have worked my ass off at a vanilla job, teaching pre-school 45 hours a week while trying to go to school and make high enough grades to keep my scholarships. It kicked my ass. I did nothing but go to work, go to class, come home and do homework. I lived with my best girlfriends and sometimes I would go days without having time to have conversation with them.
Until I started escorting and sugaring. It is not fun or rewarding, but you know what is? Getting to volunteer during the day, because I don't work all damn day. Getting to make art on the weekends. Getting to take myself to brunch on Sunday mornings. Getting to read books that have been on my list forever. Getting to stay after class and talk with my professor because I don't have to rush to work in the next 15 minutes. Being able to give a homeless person 20 bucks and not thinking a thing about it.
NEVER let anyone shame you for "not having a real job"
You are young, you are beautiful, you are earning your money, you deserve this extra time.
But, as his dad kindly pointed out, who would think that a kettle would end up turning someone into a cat? What kind of witch curses a fucking kettle?
If Stiles could speak, he would have yelled out ‘a crazy one!’, but as it is he only hisses and sinks his claws – ugh – into the surprisingly comfy sofa cushion, pointedly avoiding the glare Derek throws his way.
“I’m sorry!” The crazy witch says for the tenth time. “I wanted to make water boil quicker, but I think I must have read the wrong spell.”
‘You think?’Stiles hisses, but is completely ignored.
Scott collapses on the couch next to him, drops a hand over the fluffy fur that now covers his head and scratches it softly.
Later, Stiles will be angry with himself for giving in and purring, but for now it just feels too damn good to care.
“So what do we do?” Scott says. “How do we reverse it?”
Crazy witch gives them a guilty smile and Derek groans. “You don’t know?”
“I’m sorry!” She exclaims again. “I’m going to call my mom tomorrow morning, I swear!”
“Tomorrow?” Scott groans, holding Stiles’ back so he won’t jump on the woman and claw her eyes out. “Easy, kitty, she’s – ouch! He bit me!”
Stiles jumps out of Scott’s hold, huffing. Kitty, ugh.
“What are we gonna do with him until then?” Derek asks, arms crossed over his chest.
That’s what annoyed must smell like, Stiles figures as he gets close to Derek. It’s nice, being able to smell him, but that must be only because Derek just took a shower, even though Derek sweaty and dirty is something Stiles is weirdly attracted to, he probably won’t smell as good like that.
Although, he sniffs Derek’s leg, barely stops himself from rubbing his entire face over it, Derek must smell good in any way. For Stiles, at least.
The loft is silent, suspiciously so, and when Stiles glances up, he notices they are all staring at him, Scott and the witch both with amused looks on their faces.
As Stiles runs to hide under a chair, he wonders if cats are able to blush.
This is the kind of quality editing you can expect from me at this late hour as I rush to complete about four edits to make up for the days that I haven’t edited. I know that I missed more than that and the total may actually be up to eight but I’ll be only doing four tonight. Gotta rush because I have lots of homework.
So, long time no update. Why? Long time no write *sigh*
This can be blamed on two things.
1. School. With two short stories (which all need to be perfect and transcendent and groundbreaking based on program standards fyi) and a TV pilot (which does not need to be transcendent but that I hate because I hate screenwriting) as well as other classes it’s been a lot of writing those things and not this thing. However, my short stories are both drafted (and they may not be transcendent but they’re both pretty good), and my TV pilot nearly done and due, I may be able to start drafting *tear*…something else.
2. I hated it! It was fun. I hated the first 4500 words of this book so much. Which would not normally hold me back but coupled with the school thing wasn’t a great combo. Each word felt like pulling teeth to write, and normally I’m great at beginnings, so it was weird to right off the bat totally hate a project, which is actually my favourite project in my mind.
I had pretty much given up because ya know…I was in a stressed mood because…stress :))) And guys I make reckless abandonments when I’m stressed, I drop classes and books and bail everything in my life. So stressed me (do not trust her she is my bad alter ego) was like “I can’t do this gahhhhhh” and poor @sssoto had to listen to that breakdown (I’m sorry I put you through that episode of my existentialism).
I’d pretty much decided that this book wasn’t something I could handle and I had given up on writing it right now.
But you know what I did.
I REVIVED IT HEYOOOO.
Last night I decided to re-read the 4500 words I’d written and to my great shock, they were not entirely awful like I thought. Sure the pacing is weird in the first chapter (but I can fix that woot), and I don’t like the dialogue because gah 5 characters talking in one scene is a lot (but I can fix that woot) and in her spoken dialogue Alice doesn’t sound like herself (but I can fix that woot). But it’s seriously not awful. There’s a voice there guys. That was my issue with it, I felt like Alice had no voice and the whole thing felt vapid and empty and presence-less. But she does have a voice eeepppp.
So we are back in business! I’m writing this book slow, with no deadline and no daily word goal. Being in school, and in 3rd year where my workload is heavy and I’m trying to immerse myself in my studies as much as possible, it’s too much to reach for daily word limits and I know I’ll have to take breaks, but I’m just happy to be writing it. If I takes me six months, whatever. That’s all cool. I just want to write it because now, finally, it’s making me happy to write.
In my rush of inspiration I also made a new character aesthetic.
I also reformatted the chapter headings to be in smallcaps because formatting is my one true motivation for all things. Also smallcaps are beautiful especially because I got that Garamond going yasss.
Time: 12:15am-1:20am (I know okay….I know.)
(for the record I would have started earlier if I hadn’t had a ton of homework to do during the day)
Words written: 800 // 6072
Ranking of this writing session: (stealing this from @coffeeandcalligraphy) 7/10. It was flowing pretty well, and the scene I got to write was super shippy #Jalice, and I’ve finally reached a point where the words are starting to flow without suffering involved. However, I still am not super happy with the way the scene was paced.
Tea drunk: decaf earl grey
Random thing I had to google: how to tie a tie
Thing that distracted me: talking to my roommate for two hours about how all our main characters are so problematic…but still favs. Such problematic favs.
Music: A selection from today’s playlist includes: Hurt for Me by Syml, Itchy Teeth by Marika Hackman, Closer by Emma Jensen, Erase by Copeland, Bare by WILDES, You Come Down by Marika Hackman, 21 Gun Salute by Half Moon Run
1st drafty excerpt of the day:
They’re all too drugged by the dust that floats thick in the air and seems
opiate in weight and fogginess.
I tug at the shoulders of my blouse—feel the seams through the
sweater—and readjust it until the the top button, already tight and high on my
collarbone, presses into the base of my throat. Throughout the whole class,
pencil flicking across the page, I tug the tail of the blouse so the button
presses, presses, indents, and makes it hard to breathe.
(also weird but like…the main character’s neck and throat is mentioned a lot in this chapter…)
Like, here’s more descriptions of Alice’s neck because apparently that was a recurring motif (am I using that word correctly…wtf is a motif even) in this chapter. Weird?
don’t know how to tie a tie, the final piece of my school uniform. It’s
unstrung on my desk. I know how to tie a noose—never have for practical or
personal purposes, this I promise—but not a tie, although they feel like the
same apparatus. They are both there to cinch around my neck and slide against
my throat, slide against my airflow, remind me of my fleeting pulse which beats
against the knot pressed to my jugular.
When I took Calculus I online I would have video lectures by my professor. So i would take notes on those. The best part of video lectures is that you can pause and rewind, so I did plenty of that. Meaning if there was a 20 minute lecture video it might take me an hour to get through the whole thing just to make sure I get down everything I wanted to and stopped to practice the examples. I see no point in rushing through the lecture just to get it down because then you’ll probably have to watch it again! I would up the playback speed up to 1.5x but the stopping did obviously make it end up taking longer than the total time of the video (though it would have taken even longer if I didn’t speed it up). This allowed me to take one clean, neat set of notes rather than rushing through and then having to rewrite them later. The only reason I rewrite my notes in normal semesters is because I can’t read my mid-class handwriting otherwise.
So once I had that I would go do my homework. At first I tried reading the textbook but that ended up taking so long and it wasn’t all that helpful to me anyway (I don’t generally find math textbooks helpful). So I would have my notes and my book on hand while doing the homework. If I got stuck on a limit, derivative, or integral, I would type it into Symbolab where it would give me a full solution. From there I would try to figure out what I did wrong. It’s very easy to start using Symbolab to get the answers and not as a supplement, so just as a reminder, it will not be helpful to you on exams if you just look up the answers for your homework. Use the tools as they were intended. I also found a Riemann Sum Calculator, too, which ought to be used similarly.
In a condensed semester there’s not enough time to do extra practice outside of the homework but in a regular semester I would recommend doing extra practice if you have time. Get a notebook to do your homework in and fill it up with practice. If you’re not struggling with anything maybe try to do one extra problem for each type you’ve encountered each day just to stay sharp. If you find that you’re solid on pretty much everything but are struggling on one specific type of problem, just do several of that type to practice until you understand what you were doing wrong and correct it. If you still can’t get it you can always consult the internet or ask your professor.
One additional thing I did was fill up a mini Moleskine with condensed versions of my notes. Since it’s so portable I could bring it with me anywhere and just glance at it when I had an extra moment to remind myself of the material. This was especially useful for rules I had to memorize. You don’t necessarily have to make them the day of the class you take the notes, but I wouldn’t put it off more than a week because it can get to be too much after some time. If you don’t know what I’m talking about when I say “mini Moleskine”, check out my post on it here and you can see an example of it here.
I hope that helps! If I change my study method for Calculus II in July (which won’t be online) I’ll be sure to add to this post! For reference, I did get an A in Calculus I.
Hey guys! I noticed that a lot of people struggle with procrastination and staying motivated in school (including me) so I decided to make a list of a couple things that help me stay motivated and get stuff done because it might help some of you out!
- Don’t multitask with other stuff like youtube videos. Unless there is minimal talking involved, I suggest not to watch anything while you’re trying to study or get homework done because this makes you want to keep looking up, which distracts you from your flow of concentration and work.
- Write down a schedule of everything you have to do each day. Don’t rush on doing this - thinking long and hard about the things you have to get done will ultimately be better for you in the long run, and help you get your thoughts straight. Personally, I bullet journal, but you can do this any way you want! It can be on a sticky note, a notepad, scraps of paper that are lying around, anything! I also tend to stick important notes on my computer because I am constantly looking at it, so it is easier for me to not forget to do certain tasks that I know are important.
- Find a way to make studying fun. For some people it’s making pretty notes by using different colored pens and highlighters (this is me). For some, it could be something as simple as studying with a friend or studying at a different location like a cafe. For example, I enjoy going to the starbucks near my house sometimes to read or study with friends because I like cafe white noise :)
- Take breaks. Don’t be too hard on yourself. What I recommend is finishing one assignment and then treating yourself to something you like, whether it’s a snack, watching a youtube video, or calling a friend for a while. Just make sure not to overextend this! It can be hard to gain motivation after you take too long of a break, and it’ll just make you not want to do anything afterwards.
- Look at inspiration on social media! I find that looking at other people studying or looking at people’s notes/bujos/etc helps me a lot with getting motivated to study just as hard as other people are. Social media isn’t always bad :’)
- Get some drinks that will refresh your mind! Food might make you tired but drinks don’t really do that from my own experience. I usually drink water, fruit juice, a yogurt drink, or coffee/tea!
That’s all for now! I hope this helped, I know that some people have already done a post on this so a lot of stuff is the same but I still thought I would give my own opinion on it. byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
A/N: I love writing tickle tale, it feels so real. Enjoy! (AU by @tickletale) Des: You’re really overwhelmed by homework, so the tickle tale bros decide to cheer you up. (Reader Insert) —————————————————————————————————
You were sulking on the couch, your back sinking into the cushions. You stared at the pile of homework spread across the coffee table. You sighed, pushing the large textbook away from you.
You could hear Tick rumaging upstairs, while Papyrus rattled about in the kitchen. You propped your head on your hand. You cursed your lack of motivation to get all of your homework done, but you just couldn’t do it. If you even attempted it, it’d be half-assed and not worth even a C.
“Hey, kiddo.” Tick greeted, his necklace bouncing as he walked down the stairs. “What’cha up to?”
Just a super short drabble because i didn’t have much time and it’s a little rushed but i thought i might post it anyway. I might write a longer one for the other scene for Bobby. - Moyo
“If i get this into the hoop…then…” Bobby was playing around with the basketball with some time now, all while you were sitting in the corner, trying to read a book for class but failed miserably. Why had you thought doing homework while Bobby was doing that with his eyes and face and smile anyway?
“You won’t get it in, you’ve been trying for the 5th time already.” You chuckled a bit at his failed attempts to get dinner from you.
“This time I will! Because if I get it in in the first try—I’ll hug you.” Bobby beamed at you with a sly smile which caused your heart to make a flip. You bit your lips, suppressing a flustered smile but you couldn’t help the light shade of pink across your face.
“You won’t get a hug because you won’t get it in.” You stuck out your tongue, in hope you could overact your actual feelings. You really, really wanted him to get it in this time but he was so bad at this game, why was he playing it in the first place–
“Got it!” Bobby suddenly sprinted towards you and lifted you up, catching you by surprise. You were holding onto him tightly, afraid he might let you fall while he was spinning you around like crazy.
“Are you stupid??” You punched him a few times after he had let you down.
“What?” He asked innocently, “You said I could hug you if could get it in. And that’s what I did.”
“Why? Do you like to hug me this much?"
You weren’t really sure what kind of relationship you and Bobby shared yet. It used to be friends, however now… the term didn’t quite fit thanks to things like these he always pulled on you. It really wasn’t helping the confusion in your heart and mind at all.
"Maybe?” He played with your fingers and you were pretty sure he knew just how crazy that made you. His hands were so warm and gentle, it felt like he sent a bunch of electricity waves over you entire body when they connected with yours.
Your automatically pushed him away, “I don’t like hugging you at all, though.”
“Really?” He pulled you back, “I will change your mind.” A wide grin was plastered on his face and how much you hated it when he smiled like that. It only ended up in a disaster for you since you tried your hardest to not die from a heart-attack or something. What were the doctors tell your parents anyway?
I’m sorry Mrs. And Mr. Y/N, your daughter died from a racing heartbeat because she was so in love with her friend Kim Jiwon.
You shook your head with a sigh. “Good luck.” If he just knew how much you actually liked his hugs and proximity.
“By the way… you have there something,” He pointed at your cheek before you wiped over your face. “Not there, here.” Bobby came closer and this time you would definitely miss it again whatever it was because you couldn’t quite think straight when he was this close and you could smell his scent.
He sighed, “Not there–”
“Well, if you’d be so kind and make it go away then–”
Now you really had something on your cheek. And it definitely weren’t the crumbles of the cookies you had earlier because you had never really learned to eat like a well-mannered lady. It was something soft and sweet and it lasted for a millisecond before you could even realize that Kim Jiwon had just kissed you on the cheek.
“There too.” Bobby came closer again; you were still kinda frozen from the little kiss and then he actually kissed you… on the mouth. Lips on lips. Breath on breath. You were sharing the same air.
He wanted to pull away too soon, however you were quick enough to wrap your hands around his neck and wow just a minute ago you couldn’t even react but it was like your body was working on it own. At least your heart seemed to support your body with more blood, rapidly beating in your chest.
Bobby’s hands were holding your head so delicately, his fingers playing with the messy strands of hair as he seemed to pull you even closer, the kisses turning gentle and slow.
You pulled away with heavy breathes. “Told ya.”
Bobby snickered as he interlocked your fingers, “That I would change your mind. You seemed to enjoy It quite a lot.”
A/N: This is something that is a little different. It’s sort of a different perspective to have on Audrey with everything that happened in season 2. Y/N doesn’t trust Audrey. I felt like I needed to write this because there isn’t much out there that explore this side of Scream or dare to even do that, but I was like what the heck lets do it! I hope you enjoy!
You watch as the Audrey walks into the cafe, you were washing mugs, while emma cleaned tables. The Saturday morning rush had just left leaving a few customers enjoying their books or working on homework. You roll your eyes and focus on the mug in hand, scrubbing it with the sponge making sure it was almost spotless. Why did she have to come in now, didn’t she have to be a work soon. The past few weeks had been all over the place with Kieran being arrested and Eli dead. Emma had told you a lot and Brooke had told you a lot in fact you were certain that Brooke hadn’t told Emma as much as she had told you afraid of a bias. What Brooke probably didn’t know is that Emma was just on edge around Audrey as she was. After all that had gone down. “Hey Y/N,” Audrey approaches the counter, you were the only barista working behind the counter that morning, besides Emma, but she was out on the floor cleaning. You look up from the sink and flicker your eyes at her. She was wearing her leather jacket and a t-shirt ripped in places. You didn’t want to say anything, but you place the mug on a dry towel and walk over to the counter. “What can I get you Jensen?” Audrey squints her eyes and looks to the side, it had been weeks since the two of you had spoken, but Audrey couldn’t recall a falling out between the two of you. Then it dawned on her mentally that of course with all of the information leaked from the anonymous ghost face such as the video. You had been really good friends with Jake even though you didn’t always support Brooke’s and Jakes on again off again relationship. “Can we talk?” Audrey boldly asked leaning in on the counter. “I’m on the clock,” You dryly state. “Unless it’s about you ordering a coffee or a pastry from the case, I’m all ears.” “I mean really talk.” Audrey places her hands on the counter and looks around the place.
my daddys stuff is always more important than mine.. just because i dont have a job or adult stresses! we're 17!! i dont NEED a job yet! but his stuff always over shadows mine, AND i do his homework 😟
Okay, so how does his stuff overshadow yours?? What does he do to make you feel that way, and have you told him how you felt?? If he’s a good daddy, then I’m sure he wouldn’t want to hurt your feelings like that!!
There’s no rush to get a job, trust me on that! 😂 have fun while you can, there’s no need to have to provide for yourself yet, and I hope he doesn’t make you feel bad for that!
Now.. Onto the homework. Excuse my French, BUT WHAT THE HECKIN HECK?? He should NOT make you do HIS responsibilities. Now if he says something like “little one, I’m having trouble with my homework, could you help me out a bit, I could use your smarts!” and you both sat down and figured it out TOGETHER, that’s okay. But if he’s making you do all his homework, that’s not very nice at all, or very helpful for him in the future. Tell your daddy that you don’t mind helping him out when he needs it, but that you don’t feel like it’s the right thing to do it for him.
“What are you saying, Mike?” Y/N asked with a serious mime across her face, as she watched Michael wiping a single sweat drop of his face.
“Calum’s not who you think he is.” Michael had been saying the same sentence repeatedly, but Y/N didn’t seem to understand. Every time he repeated himself, she would look confused and ask about it, stupidly.
“How?” She finally asked. Michael didn’t have an answer for that. Maybe it wasn’t a drastic change, but every time Calum was around Y/N, he seemed to change. He became more aware of himself, the choices he took and simply, he became a better person. Y/N needed to know that the guy she was falling in love with where nothing she thought he was.
“It’s just, stuff, yknow?” Michael shrugged and turned his head towards her. The pain in his stomach was getting bigger as he mentally hammered a dagger into Calum’s back. “He’s different around you? He’s like the hero when you’re around. But god, if you could see him when he’s with us!”
“How is he then? With you?”
Y/N didn’t seem to believe Michael, which kind of pissed him off. Her tone was strong and static as she tilted her head in a way only she could tilt her head. It sounded crazy, but sometimes the nicest girl in school could be the bitchiest, too.
“He’s like… boy-ish. I mean, he’s worse than me!”
“Nobody’s worse than you, Clifford.”
“Listen, I know it’s unbearable to get to know the truth, but you deserve it.”
“Michael, you haven’t told me anything.”
“Yes, I have!” Michael yelled in anger. How could Y/N not see it? The students sitting at the window gazed towards them, as Y/N leant in and started whispering.
“How is he different?”
“Y’know,” Michael mumbled as Y/N widened her eyes and shook her head. Michael started rambling and listing the difference. “It’s just, the alcohol, the sex, the cigarettes, I swear, sometimes he visits me high at like 3am.”
Y/N’s red grew red as Michael’s words hit her. No-no-no-no. There was no way that the lovingly, nice boy smoked weed. Michael bit his lip as she stared into the blank air with pursed lips and sharpened eyes. If Michael were speaking the truth, things were about to change between her and Calum.
“He smokes?” Y/N’s voice was weak, almost so the words couldn’t be formed. But she managed to speak and look at Michael with surprised eyes.
Quite often, actually, Michael thought.
“He told me he was a virgin.” It seemed to hurt Y/N more than it was intended to.
Probably to get in your pants.
Thus, the conversation ended. Y/N rushed up from her seat as Michael sighed and leant back in the sofa. He knew he could convince her to keep calm and stay with him, so he let her hurry out of the coffee shop.
Y/N stormed in off the door, only to hear her parent’s vague voices, yelling something she didn’t catch. But she ignored them and hurried upstairs to her room to lock the door. It was just a shock. How could she be so hurt? She barely had a crush on Calum.
Her breathing became quicker as she fumbled with the lock. How did it get that far? Why did Michael insist on telling her? Did Michael even like Calum if he was exposing that kind of secrets? Y/N turned around and saw a brown-haired boy with a book in his hands, sitting on her bed. The same boy she was dreading to see the most.
“Your parents let me in,” he told her with a small smile as she stared at the ground. There was no way that Calum could do such things. You knew his family - it wasn’t well-received in that family.
“I have homework.”
“I can help?”
“I don’t want you to.”
Calum frowned at you quick words rushing out of your mouth as you licked your lips, slightly. Which of course drove Calum insane.
See, Calum didn’t understand the hurried, stressed look on Y/N. He simply thought it was because of the homework she was acting like that, and not because of him. Michael didn’t lie when he told those things about him, but it was a long time ago. He hadn’t had a joint, even a cigarette in months now. Y/N placed her hand on her elbow as she watched Calum in silence. It wasn’t awkward, anything but that. The silence was almost relieving, yet stressing. In the air, flooded a scent of perfume and mistrust.
But Calum was blind to all of that.
“Please, Cal, leave.” Y/N murmured and sat down at her desk, turning her back towards Calum. Calum’s eyes stared at her back, waiting for her to twist around and come with an explanation. But she never did. The bed made a small noise as he stood up still with a frown on his face. Y/N was closing her eyes as he walked out the door in slow movements.
He smacked the door on the way out and made sure to be loud going downstairs to say goodbye to her parents. Her father’s and Calum’s voices got intertwined as she sighed and made her way to the bed. She knew he hadn’t left the house yet. His voice was still the clearest as she tried to wrap her mind around the real Calum Hood.
Try to imagine how it was for Calum. He had been trying so hard to get Y/N’s attention and finally it succeeded. Then one day, she kicks him out without a warning or explanation. Girls were confusing to guys like him, but he had no intention of giving up on her.
Next Monday, he had a clear plan. He knew she would be sitting under the tree under football practice, waiting for the Coach to finish. He knew she would be doing homework, and he knew the shadows of the tree would fit her perfectly. As the Coach was wrapping up, Ashton whispered something in Calum’s ear.
“You know, Luke’s getting more popular. He doesn’t sit alone in the cafeteria anymore.”
That was true. This very day a few girls had come over to sit by his table. Luke didn’t seem to enjoy it very much because he was captured by the book he was reading, but more and more people talked to him and fewer and fewer people ignored him. Everything with Luke was going swimmingly.
“Y/N seems to be hanging out with him, too. Yesterday, they went out, I think,” Ashton whispered as Calum’s face stiffened, “Thank god for Michael. It’s probably because of him, y’know? They had that thing last Friday.”
Calum chest pumped as he glanced towards Y/N, sitting with a book in her lap. Her eyes ran across the paper as Calum’s eyes tried to focus on the Coach. But Ashton’s words were printed in his mind. Y/N couldn’t have gone out with Luke, as in… a date. She couldn’t. And there was no way it was Michael’s fault. If anything, Michael would try to convince her to stay awake from Luke.
Calum’s breathings were getting louder as the Coach finished. He called for a shower and turned his back, so Calum could have his usual chat-up with Y/N. Normally, when he hurried towards her, she would look up from whatever she was doing, but today, she kept her eyes planted on the book. Calum frowned with a red face and coughed to get her to look up.
“How… how you’re doing?” he asked with a nervous smile and wide eyes. He tried to remain the normal breathing pattern, but Y/N sighed loudly at his words, making him more anxious.
“I’m fine.” She said stiffly and stood up. She didn’t say more, didn’t ask about him like you would normally do. She just packed her bag and threw it over her shoulder, rushing away from Calum and towards Coach Y/L/N who was staring down at his phone.
“Hey Y/N,” Calum shouted quietly and ran behind her, “I have a couple of questions.”
Y/N stopped and looked at Calum with a raised eyebrow, waiting for him to ask.
“Are you like… like dating Luke now?” Y/N smirked as Calum blushed. Way to seem desperate.
“Why? It doesn’t bother you, does it?” She said with a smirk spreading across her face. Suddenly, the same, old Y/N was back. The witty, smart and sarcastic girl that Calum fell in love with was showing her true nature.
“You don’t wanna know the truth, do you?” Calum chuckled, but Y/N’s face grew stiff again at his words as her eyes drilled into his and he finally understood, even though she hadn’t said a thing about it.
“I already know the truth, Calum.” Calum’s eyes went to the ground, but he forced them to look her in the eye. Everything made sense. Of course, that was why she was ignoring him. She knew. She knew about his mistakes.
“I’m sorry,” he said, grabbing her arm when she tried to walk away from him. She sighed and rushed towards her father.
Calum suddenly understood everything. How the dinner went with Y/N and Michael and what they talked about. His hands turned into fists as he stared into the distance angrily as he felt a sudden pressure on his chest. He felt the need to punch the air. Hit something. Or beat someone up.
He had to find Michael.
A/N: So, this were supposed to be posted yesterday, but I kinda hurt my shoulder real bad and I passed out… yikes. But now I’ve finished it and it’s great. Also, you did not get a lot of writing this week, sorry bout that. That’s actually why I decided to update ptbp. Hope you enjoyed! (still rly wanna know ur thoughts tho)
Could I have a draco imagine where he never really noticed the reader until one day he bumped into her and she fell and he was helping her up and it was love at first sight. But she’s a grifendor and he had bullied her the first year because she was chubby and that made her insecure about her body and she didn’t really eat as much as the rest of the students. And he tries everything to make her feel better and stuff. Add a lot of fluff please❤️
Hello, could you please write an imagine about me and Draco. And if you need a plot it could just be him telling me how he likes me. And I also really like the kind of imagines that have tiny little flash backs in the middle. So if you could include that, thank you, and if not than you don’t have to. Cheers.
Walking past the Great Hall doors, you saw your friends talking, laughing and eating with each other. Deciding not to interrupt them, you kept on walking until you were almost to the Charms classroom. You knew that everyone would be at lunch, so you didn’t have to worry about anyone being in there.
Turning the corner, you walked right into someone. You fell to the ground, but the person you bumped into didn’t. You looked up to see three pairs of Slytherin eyes staring at you. Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott. The one you bumped into was Draco, and he seemed like the only one who cared to help you up.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you coming around the corner.” He said as he picked up your bag for you.
“It’s alright, I should have watched where I was going” you replied as you got up.
Dusting off your skirt, you took your bag from Draco’s hand. Brushing his hand as you pulled away, he looked at you and asked,
“What’s your name? I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.”
Of course he wouldn’t remember your name. He only spent the first two years at school making fun of you. You didn’t think you looked that much different from losing weight. Getting slightly annoyed and sad from the past memories, you told him
“My name is y/n and please excuse me, I have to go” you rushed away and into the Charms classroom. You couldn’t even believe that he was being nice to you because you were skinnier. That just made you even more insecure about your body.
Taking out your homework, that you were planning to do, you saw an apple at the bottom of your bag. You put your homework on your desk and picked up the apple. Walking over to the trash can, you threw it away. Walking back to your desk, you couldn’t even concentrate on your homework. You only thought about the first two years at Hogwarts.
~Flashback to first year~
Skipping along to the Gryffindor table, you plopped down in your seat next to your friends. Eating and laughing you finally finished your dinner and started back to the Gryffindor Tower. Before you made it, you saw some Slytherin boys coming your way. You only knew their names because you heard people talk about how mean they were.
“Look boys it’s the fat Gryffindor, Y/n!” the blond boy exclaimed for everyone to hear.
Not wanting him to get a reaction out of you, you didn’t respond. You kept walking and hid your head. You were only eleven, you still had some baby fat on you. Walking as fast as your short legs could take you, you tried to get away from the Slytherin boys.
“Why? You should be thanking us L/n, were only trying to help. Maybe if you were skinnier people would like you”
“Just please leave me alone” your voice shook as a tear finally fell
“Let’s go boys, I’m done wasting my time on this fat oaf” they started going back down the stairs as you climbed up.
Saying the password to the Fat Lady, you ran up to your dorm and cried. Everyone tried to calm you down, but it was no use. Draco Malfoy and his gang made an impact on your life that you never wanted. They made you feel useless and fat. That people would only like you if you were skinny and pretty. The bad part was that you believed them.
~End of flashback~
Now here you were crying about the past.
“Pull yourself together” you thought “he shouldn’t have this kind of power over you”
But he did; he had the power to make you starve yourself so you would be somewhat expectable in society. Power he didn’t even know he had. If he didn’t even remember your name, then he defiantly doesn’t remember what he didn’t to you.
“Do see that y/n?” you asked you friend, Blaise, as your eyes searched the Gryffindor table.
“The Gryffindor that you bumped into today? No, I don’t see her anywhere- never mind she’s just coming in”
Darting your eyes to the door, you saw her walking in.
“She looks so beautiful in her uniform” you said out loud
“Mate, you met her once. Like two hours ago” Blaise said slowly as he looked at you like you were crazy.
“No he didn’t. Draco don’t you remember her from first year?” Theo asked
“No, why? Was she like my Potions partner or something?” you ask confused
“No, you bullied her during first and second year. You always called her fat and ugly in front of everyone.”
“I…. no I couldn’t have done that. She’s beautiful and her body is perfect.”
“She does seem to be on the thin side, Draco” Blaise took another bit of his food and looked at you.
“Oh my gosh, please don’t tell me that she’s the one that we would corner and throw insults at.” You pleaded
“That’s the one” Theo stated “that’s probably why she wanted to get away from us so quickly today.”
Stopping the conversation, you look at where y/n was sitting. She wasn’t eating. She was looking at everyone else eating, but she wasn’t. Looking down at your plate, you felt disgusted with yourself. Lifting your head back up, you saw her starting to leave.
“I’ll be right back” you told the boys as you started following y/n”
Walking out of the Great Hall, you decided to go to the library. It was quiet and you knew it would be deserted. Feeling like someone was following you, you started to walk quicker. Reaching the library, you started to calm down. You didn’t hear anyone’s footsteps following you anymore.
Scanning the hundreds of books, you found a couple you wanted to look at, and walked to your normal spot. Still feeling uneasy you turned around and locked eyes with your former bully.
“Were you following?” you blurted
“No- I mean yes- no… I just wanted to talk to you”
“Why do you want to talk to me?”
“I remember you now. It took a little refreshing of my memory, but I remember. I’m so sorry, Y/n. I see how my words have impacted you and I’m just so sorry.” He spoke softly as he walked closer to you.
“Just saying sorry isn’t good enough. You made me hate my body and basically starve myself to feel okay.” You choked up as tears started rapidly falling.
“I know sorry isn’t good enough, but you don’t know how much I would like to have never said those things to you. I promise, y/n I’ll do anything to make you feel better. Just please start eating more. You’ll feel better, I promise.”
Not feeling like listening to his lies, you started to leave, but he grabbed your forearm and spun you around. Before you were able to blink an eye, his lips were on yours. Wide eyed, you tried to get your thoughts together. Draco Malfoy is kissing. Your old bully is kissing you.
“WHY ARENT YOU PULLING AWAY” you mentally screamed at yourself. You knew why you weren’t pulling away before you even asked yourself. The kiss felt too good, too right. You pulled away from him to catch your breath. He looked at you, wiped away your tears and planted a kiss on your forehead.
“I’m serious about my promise, Y/n. I don’t want you to feel like this anymore. I want to help you and treat you like my princess all the time. Please just let me help.” He begged with his puppy dog eyes.
“You have to promise that you won’t treat ANYONE like how you treated me, ever again.”
“I won’t. As long as you let me help you.”
“Alright, but don’t just think that I’m going to start eating as much as you want me to. I get to control how much I eat. Not you, your just there to help me through this. Got it?”
“Got it. I can’t wait to do couple stuff with you” he said as he kissed your nose
