I'm keeping a really close eye on Rupes' upcoming film, "The Death of Stalin". Armando Iannucci tweeted recently that it has been completed, music and everything. Finally! The trailer should be out soon. Early buzz is really promising. What a cast!! And so can't wait to hear Rupes' Russian accent. Just assuming he'll do one. Was hoping to see it at Cannes, but not on the list. Hope Rupes does some publicity for it. Might have to wait for a holiday release if it's hunting for Oscar nods though.

Here’s more information on the film. I didn’t realize that it’s a comedy.

And here’s some information about Vasily Dzhugashvili who Rupert plays:

Promoted to the rank of colonel at the beginning of the war, Vasily was elevated numerous times, becoming a Major-General in 1946, a rank far beyond his ability. His drinking, loutish behaviour and intolerable temper made him both unpopular and a liability. He had no sense of responsibility and Stalin once had to intervene by sacking his colonel son for ‘hard drinking, debauchery and corrupting the regiment’. (X)
