running a mile

Put the Hay in the Barn

When I started this year, I planned on running 500 miles and completing my first ½ in October. A few months into training I knew those goals were too easy so I set new two new goals. 1,000 miles and 3, ½ marathons.

As of today, I have already passed 500 miles and I am confident that by this time tomorrow, my first ½ will be in the bag.

My quiet mantra during training has been “Put the hay in the barn.” Which means when you’ve done the hard work, you can sit back and enjoy it. That’s my plan for tomorrow. :)

Run streak day: 169

Miles for the year: 682.3

3 morning trail miles done!!!!

I finally got out there early, and it was soooo nice!!

Also there were sunflowers blooming everywhere I have never seen so many around before it was pretty awesome.

Now its time for a laid back Friday cause this has been the busiest week I’ve had in a long time.

Happu running everyone!!

life is good on friday

the road to new york

Yesterday’s storms didn’t wash away all the humidity, a sweaty 9 mile run with my son in the park and around the neighborhood, about to have dinner and ice cream on this beautiful Friday evening, life is good because the weekend is here or is it the weekend is here because life is good?

Dear D&Diary,

Today I had the revelation that my half orc has 30ft speed, but because she’s a monk, her unarmored movement is +10ft at Level 3. Using the ki feature Breath of the Wind, she can dash as a bonus action meaning she can go 80ft in a turn.

If anyone cast Haste on my dear sweet Marfu, she would go 160 in six seconds.

At her most perfect Level 20 self’s unarmored movement of +30, she could go a max 120ft in a turn, or 240ft hasted. With 20 ki points to spend that could mean a solid two minutes of going almost 30 miles per hour and I think that’s beautiful.

i think one of the biggest problems i have with getting stuff done is i assume it’s easy for other people. like “she gets up at six every morning because she’s a morning person” or “yeah, he can run five miles every day but he likes running” or “she knows five languages, her brains just wired differently than mine” when in reality it’s all about discipline for everyone. like yeah, some people have natural aptitudes for some things but anyone that’s accomplishing anything is putting in the work. achievements don’t come easy, and i think if i start acknowledging that it’s like that for everyone i can stop making excuses

limitless or cherry bomb? good thing or running 2 u? heartbreaker or 0 mile? back 2 u or sun and moon? baby don’t like it or whiplash? angel or summer 127?

I just said “no one gets my motor running”, which made me realize something:

Asexual:  Electric Car.  No one will ever get their motor running.

Demisexual:  Plug-in Hybrid.  They’re electric most of the time, but drive them long enough and the motor will start running.
