The Boys' Club

Generally speaking, I feel like an interloper. It’s like I’m in the middle of some secret meeting that I’m not supposed to know about. But everyone seems cool with it because somewhere along the way I received my credentials as “one of the guys”. I’m not sure how I did it, but I like to think it’s my razor wit, charm, and good looks. More than likely, it’s actually because I find it humorous to drink lots of beer and then burp out whole sentences.

I’m talking about the boys’ club that is life in white cis-male dominated America. And, while I know that the majority of everyday activity is non-gendered (eating dinner, parking a car, going to work, etc.) I can’t help but feel as if I’m not supposed to be there.

Dear Rumplemintz, We've been together through good times and bad... And I've always have, and still always will love you, but I feel that it is time that we take a break. I mean... I'm not saying that we won't get back together, but it's just for right now... I'm just not in a place to be in such a serious relationship right now...
