Marcellino Lucchi, MS Aprilia RSV250, 2001 Italian 250cc Grand Prix, Mugello

in his 19th season of (gp250) racing Lucchi, aged 44, starts as a wild card rider for the factory Aprilia team at Mugello
Lucchi used Aprilia’s his entire career & would also become the factory test rider (amongst others testing the RS3 Cube)
his last Grand Prix would be the 2004 Malaysian Grand Prix, where he substituted for Manuel Poggiali, he would then be 47 years old, more than twice the age of most of his competitors

Roberto Locatelli, MS Eros Ramazzotti-Aprilia RSV250, 2001 FIM 250cc World Championship, pre-season tests

Locatelli won the 125cc World Championship in ‘00 & promoted to 250cc the next year, he started the season strong with a 3rd place finish in Suzuka for the first Grand Prix of the year, he then had a string of top 10 finishes to close off the season again in 3rd place at Jacarepagua
he would stay in Grand Prix racing until 2009, along the way moving back to 125’s in '03 & '04
