In Another Life, On Another Day

With their sweet tags they added to my last poem sosauffie and skinnytiesandbluescarves encouraged my to go through my hard drive again and this is what I found:

I’m sitting at the edge, staring at the sky,

Watching the clouds slowly passing by.

And I wonder,

What if I decide to leave tonight,

While you’re sleeping deep and tight.

Would you miss me?

I tried so hard to be the one,

The one that you could rely on,

But I failed you.

The world was against us from the start,

They watched us falling, falling hard,

Please forgive me.

And somewhere out there in the light,

There is your future shinning bright,

But without me.

In another life, on another day,

I would be strong enough to stay,

I would take the world heads on,

Standing righteous, standing strong.

In another life, on another day,

It wouldn’t matter what they say,

I wouldn’t pay it any heed,

For our love is strong and deep.

In another life, on another day,

Everything would be okay,

But that dream is far away.

Many years later down the road,

I saw you standing there, I slowed,

Beautiful as I remembered.

You didn’t recognize me, walked away,

The world suddenly turned grey,

I deserve it.

And later when I’m again alone,

I imagine you are coming home,

To your family.

When you made your fresh start,

Did you tell him who broke your heart?

Did he hear my name?

And somewhere out there in the night,

Was my future, fading out of sight,

Without you.

In another life, on another day,

I would be strong enough to stay,

I would take the world heads on,

Standing righteous, standing strong.

In another life, on another day,

It wouldn’t matter what they say,

I wouldn’t pay it any heed,

For our love is strong and deep.

In another life, on another day,

Everything would be okay,

But that dream is far away.

To you a last loving gaze I send,

I go on without a happy end,

A last Goodbye, my love.

Apparently I´m a prophet because I wrote that five years ago and it fits so perfectly to my Marvey canon - and Suits didn´t even exist back then!
