Amarantha was dead and the High Lords were finally free after fifty years of being bound to her. Kallias had told Viviane just before his powers had been taken how he had loved her for his entire life. That had been fifty years ago and Kallias returns to his home, the Winter Court. Only to be shocked that Viviane had managed to protect the small city and his people and that she realized what Kallias was for her as well. That she loved him.
Love and Snow: (Crap title but I can’t think of anything)
Kallias was returning home. After fifty years, he was to return to his snow-laden city and the secret love of his life, Viviane. He left the morning after Rhysand had. It was the fastest he had ever winnowed… And he appeared right in front of Viviane.
“Ka-ka-Kallias!” Viviane was standing on the outskirts of the town, cheeks flushed red from the cold. Light danced in her eyes as she puffed out icy air. “You-you’re here!!” She shrieked. Tears streamed down her pale face as she wrapped her arms around Kallias’s waist in a tight embrace. “I missed you. I missed you so damn much!” She huffed.
“I missed you too.” He whispered, brushing a finger through her silver hair. “Viviane.”
It was Viviane’s name on his lips that sprung her into action. She pulled away from him for a second, pulled down his shoulders so his face was level with her own and brushed her pink lips gently against his mouth. Kallias gasped, suddenly aware that Viviane returned his feelings and brushed his lips against his own. Viviane teased him again, brushing warm hands across his face, tracing his cheek and jaw bone. She pulled her face away, sighed and brushed her hips slightly against his own.
That was what made him snap. He had never kissed in public, did it in the privacy of his or someone else’s room but he, did. Not. Care. He lifted her up suddenly, making her squeal and then his lips met her own. He pecked them slightly before parting them to give access to his tongue. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him closer almost demanding his tongue to enter her mouth. And he did.
Slow at first, he ran his tongue against the side of her mouth. She groaned, the sound coming deep from her throat as she fisted her hands in his silky, shoulder length hair. He stroked her teeth and smiled against her mouth. His large hands wrapped around her waist, hugging her to his chest to give him better access to her. He moved deeper, pressing against her tongue making her gasp.
She slowly withdrew, pulling her mouth away from his. Light sparkled in her eyes like moonlight dancing on snow. Viviane drew out a large breath before whispering, “I’ve wanted to do that for a long, long time.” She smiled, “I realized that I loved you when Amarantha took your powers.” Tears streamed down her face. He had been gone for fifty years. They had loved each other for those fifty years and had never been able to see each other. It made his heart break. So, he took her hand in his and winnowed her to his bedroom.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, brushing his lips against the shell of her ear. “I’m so, so sorry for being away from you for so long.” He knew it was sudden. That they hadn’t even been together for ten minutes. But. They had secretly loved each other for those fifty years. So, he gently brought her down to the ground. Bent down and kneeled before her. Viviane realized what he was doing. She knew what he was doing when a string on her heart pulled her closer. When Kallias felt that same string.
He closed his hands, holding them together and whispering something so quietly she couldn’t hear it. Then he opened his palms. Tears glistened in his eyes as he once again looked at her and choked out, “Will you marry me Viviane?” Viviane just stared. Stared. And stared. And stared. Stared at his silver hair in a loose braid. Stared at his out-stretched hands. Stared at the High Lord she had loved for fifty years without him or the rest of the world knowing. The string on her heart tugged harder, assuring her that it was okay to be so happy that it hurt. That it was okay to cry, to stare at the ice ring in his hands. A simple ring with the words, “Ice and snow may appear bitter and heartless, but look a little closer and find that it observes and cares about everyone and everything.” Engraved on it.
She peered into his eyes again, eyes that ice itself inhabited. Saw the light, the want and the love in them. She had difficulty grasping on any words but managed to whisper out, “I will.” She drew in a shuddering breath and croaked out, “I love you.”
So Kallias worshipped her the entire night, and the string connecting their hearts pulled harder. Grew from a single string to a bridge to the other’s mind. A bridge formed from undeniable love, trust and that they were… mates.
Lol. Just needed to write some feels so this hasn’t really been edited :D
I used to hold a hope that, you know, the senate would change once all these old, white-haired fogies would die; and you know unfortunately, they trained all their little pussy kids just to be like them. Just as hateful.

“Do you believe in ghosts?” Sarah asked, blush filling her cheeks moments after the words dared to leave her lips. “I-I’m sorry, completely random question to a random person, it’s just… I need to do a little bit of research, that’s all.” She pressed her lips together after chuckling humorlessly and looked away from the interviewed. Surely ambushing people out of nowhere was not her MO, but she didn’t know exactly what to do. She wasn’t good at approaching others, knowing them or not and especially if it was to talk about a topic that would have them thinking whether or not she was completely mental. Which she was not, and she had to reassure herself. Luckily no students of hers were anywhere around to see her behaving like that.
