So I'm reading Julius Caesar for the first time and Cassius says "did Cicero say anything" and casca's just like "aye he spoke Greek" and I can't stop fkcuing laughing

the answer to “did Cicero say anything” is almost always “yes, probably too much.” like, I love the dude, but we have thirty five books of his letters, not counting his speeches and rhetoric, and a lot of it is him complaining about…a lot of things.

someone in one of my Latin classes once proposed a sitcom version of the fall of the Roman Republic in the style of Arrested Development with Cicero as Michael Bluth and it’s still one of the best ideas I’ve ever heard
