Purple Rain
Prince

Full length version, lovelies~~♥
Wowza 8:40

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted one time to see you laughing
I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain

Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain

I only want to see you bathing in the purple rain

I never wanted to be your weekend lover
I only wanted to be some kind of friend
Baby I could never steal you from another
It’s such a shame our friendship had to end

Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain

I only want to see you underneath the purple rain

Honey I know, I know, I know times are changing
It’s time we all reach out for something new
That means you too
You say you want a leader
But you can’t seem to make up your mind
I think you better close it
And let me guide you to the purple rain

Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain

If you know what I’m singing about up here
C'mon raise your hand

Purple rain Purple rain

I only want to see you, only want to see you
In the purple rain

Within Temptation, “The Unforgiving”

Within Temptation, The Unforgiving (2011)
Roadrunner Records

Artist: Romano Molenarr

Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation took a different approach in releasing their 2011 album, The Unforgiving. Blending genres from classic heavy metal to ‘80s pop, the band’s sixth studio album became the first concept album for the band, armed with a trilogy of short films and a six-part comic book series.

Initially starting out as a soundtrack to a film, the band shifted to using a comic book series instead to avoid any inconsistencies or production issues that films can undergo. The comic was to be written by Steven O’Connell, who the band met after contributing a track to The Chronicles of Spellborn video game. Romano Molenarr, known for his work on Witchblade, The Darkness and X-Men, would go on to illustrate the series of comic books with the first being released March 18, 2011.

The cover depicts heroine, Sinead, armed with a gun, and other comic characters including Moher Maiden and The Triplets. All of these characters have their own designated short film, which includes also a music video. The interior includes sketches from the comic along with the lyrics.

With the ‘80s movie poster inspired album cover for The Unforgiving and interior booklet, it does a great job of tying in elements from the comics, lyrics, and the short film that are included in the release. The interior artwork includes black and white sketches of the characters along with the lyrics.

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: exogenesis: symphony needs more recognition. i mean, really, have you ever sat down and listened to all 3 parts all the way through with good headphones? muse recorded alongside a 40 piece orchestra to record a 13 minute long SYMPHONY separated into 3 songs creating not only a space/symphonic rock spectacle but an almost entirely classical piece that even contains a narrative that describes a futuristic human society coming to a potential end. matt literally arranged the entire orchestral section by himself because he didn't want anyone to change his vision for the piece. he pushed himself so much on the piano in part 2 (cross-pollination) that he's reluctant to play it live because he's afraid he'll mess it up and not do justice to the song. exogenesis is such an incredibly intricate and elaborate piece of music. it's indefinitely a testament to who muse are as musicians. exogenesis needs to be appreciated more
