Sweep Me Off My Feet Hey, you, I’m not bold or cool or masculine, Maybe you’re just waiting for the perfect Latin lover to walk in, I’m not him. Between my penis and my chin is Camembert and shame, I used to be elegantly thin, I’m sorry babe, we both missed that train, Oh, no, if I follow you all your girlfriends will know, then i’ll wind up with the other fools waiting, wasting his time following you ‘round, another lonely guy with longing in his eye, but you said your man was bringing you down.
Someone sweep me off my feet, i am not an angel, i’m barely a man, I’m lonely but I’m here, Baby, understand, Someone sweep me off my feet.
i want to leave my current life behind for a quaint little cabin in the middle of woods where i plant my own vegetable garden and skip rocks on a pond nearby, waking up at crack of dawn to chase down a purple sky and wearing woolly oversized sweaters and frilly dresses and anything else that will last forever and ever and waking up at midnight just to howl at the moon and when the sun begins to set, i sit in a rocking chair on the porch knitting more baggy sweaters and socks for the upcoming autumn and the fireflies will keep me company til sleepiness washes over

So lay me down, let the only sound Be the overflow, pockets full of stones Lay me down, let the only sound Be the overflow
🌊 gather: stones, lavender, sea salt, and coriander.
🌊 mix herbs in the water, a tub or a sink.
🌊 play the song while you perform the ritual, dance and sing along if you like.
🌊 for each issue/burden, create a representing sigil and draw it on a rock with something biodegradable.
🌊 if you are not willing to take a bath, fill a sink with water and simply submerge your hands instead.
🌊 submerge as much of yourself as is comfortable (not your face). think on the things that are holding you down. each time you bring your head/hands up, drop one of the rocks. do this until you hold none.
🌊 remain in the water a moment, feeling the weightlessness it gives you.
🌊 take the rocks to a pond and leave them underwater.
I always think about what Priscilla Lopez said to me during “In the Heights.” She said, “You’re throwing a rock in the pond, and you have no idea the ripples that are going to come back.” I’m grateful for every wave that is going to come back.

In the Heights really was my attempt to make a way for myself. And I’m so happy that it’s made a professional life for so many Latino actors. I had an actor come up to me once at a studio, and he said, “I’ve played Kevin twice and Piragua Guy three times in different regional productions all over the country.” He has a living because Heights is getting done. So I’m enormously gratified by that.
Me explaining what "sinking like a stone" means to one of my students today. She is eight.
So, when you throw a rock into a pond it sinks very fast right to the bottom, doesn't it? Whereas if you have a leaf or a feather, it would float, or sink much more slowly than a rock would, right? So if something is sinking like a stone, it means it's going down really fast, like a rock would in a lake. You get it?
8 year old, completely serious:
Yeah, or like if you throw a whole chicken.
