Make sure you keep that pace under control at the start of the marathon.
I definitely plan on keeping my speed in check at the start of the race. I learned my lesson at the San Diego Rock 'n’ Roll last year. The plan is to take the race in quarters starting at about a 7min/mi pace for the first quarter and increasing the speed each 6-7 miles. The course definitely lends itself to my plan with a gradual incline for almost the first half of the race and a decline on the second half. It should help with picking up speed on those later miles.
