“Death is an inevitability, isn’t it? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don’t worry about it. I’m ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn’t complain. It’s been good.”
MUSICAL VISIONS: LOU REED - NEW YORK [FULL ALBUM] 1989
LONG-TIME FOLLOWERS OF MY BLOGS MAY BE AWARE, THAT I’M A BIG FAN OF DAVID BOWIE AND LOU REED. LOU REED IS THE ARTIST WHO SPEAKS MOST STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART. MAYBE SOMETIMES WE BOTH HAVE A LITTLE TOO MUCH IN COMMON… THIS CONCEPT ALBUM IS A SOCIAL COMMENTARY FROM 1989. STONE AGE, A TIME WHEN THE SCUMBAG RONALD REAGAN WAS PRESIDENT AND THE DOOM OF GEORGE H. W. BUSH WAS SEEN AT THE HORIZON. (TOGETHER THEY CAUSED TWELVE YEARS OF REPUBLICAN ASSHOLISM.) LOU’S SUBJECTS ARE STILL FRESH. JUST CHANGE SOME NAMES AND HERE IS THE SITUATION WE’RE IN TODAY. WITH THE SLIGHT DIFFERENCE THAT THE PRESENT IS EVEN MORE FASCIST AND DANGEROUS, THANKS TO THE TRUMP GANG OF USUAL CRIMINALS. (TRUMP IS ALSO MENTIONED IN THE LYRICS.) THIS ALBUM IS A STATEMENT. NOW MORE NECESSARY THAN EVER.
