Imagine Chris and the Avengers cast talking about you on Jimmy Kimmel.
You settled in your hotel room bed and turned on the television just in time to catch your husband, Chris Evans, and fellow cast members; Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner live on Jimmy Kimmel. You were meant to be at the interview with them but your commitment with your new movie sent you to London instead, and so there you were watching them answer the questions you were suppose to as well about the movie you all had acted in six months ago.
The interview started and the cast took their seats. You smiled at how handsome Chris looked in the outfit you had told him to take with him; everyone else looked great too. Seeing them made you miss their company and you wished you had been able to join them on the couch.
“It is so great to have you guys here tonight,” Jimmy addressed them with a wide grin. “The movie isn’t even out yet and everyone’s already excited to see part two.” The audience cheered their agreements. “Thank you all for coming out. I know all of you are very busy which is why we’re missing a few cast members tonight.”
The cast nodded in acknowledgement of your absence as well as a few others.
“Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, as well as your wife, Y/N,” Jimmy said to Chris and Chris nodded again, this time with a cute pout. “I heard she’s currently in London filming her next movie.”
“Yeah,” Chris chuckled. “She actually left for London like- a week after we wrapped up Infinity War. I headed home to relax and she went on to her next job, it definitely says a lot about our level of demand in the industry.” He joked and you chuckled softly. “No, I’m extremely proud of her. She’s up for an Oscar, did you guys know that?”
“How can we not? You talk about it all day every day,” Robert rolled his eyes as he pretended to be annoyed with Chris. “Even Y/N doesn’t talk about it as much as you do.” The room laughed. “No, seriously though- he talks about it all the time. Doesn’t he, guys?” He asked the cast for confirmation.
“All the time,” Scarlett and Jeremy nodded.
“Even Y/N tells him to shut up about it,” Mark chuckled.
“You’d think he was the one getting nominated,” Chris H added.
“He’s a proud husband,” Jimmy defended Chris.
“Yeah,” Chris laughed, “just leave me be.”
“He’s a lovesick puppy, that’s what he is.” Robert teased, glancing back at Chris. “Ever since the second he laid eyes on Y/N, he’s been head over heels for her.” The cast nodded and Chris blushed deeply, dropping his head. “You should have seen him the first time she walked on to the set, his eyes popped out of his skull and he became a huge blubbering mess.”
You giggled to yourself, remembering the day Robert was talking about. You’d been friends with Robert for quite a while now, having met on the set of ‘Sherlock Holmes’ in 2009. He was the one who took you around on your first day at the Marvel Studios and introduced you to everyone, including your husband. Chris was a huge mess the first time he met you, mainly because he was already a fan of your work and you were drop dead gorgeous in a black lace dress; he was a bit of a sucker when it came to lace.
“Yeah, okay,” Chris chuckled, “I’ll admit I was a bit of a mess when I met Y/N.”
“A bit?” Chris H scoffed then chuckled. “We were all embarrassed for you, dude. You’re lucky she’s ridiculously nice and ignored your rambling otherwise you wouldn’t be here with that ring on your finger. You lucked out with her, my man.”
“Oh trust me, I know.” Chris chuckled. “She reminds me everyday.”
He was joking- while you did remind him occasionally, mostly as a joke, sometimes when you were fighting- he didn’t need a reminder when it came to you. He knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you even before the first date.
The two of you clicked pretty much immediately and every day on set became like a scene out of a romantic comedy. It got to a point where Joss had to keep you two apart because you and Chris couldn’t be in the same room without flirting and/or ending up in a fit of giggles.
Your relationship with him progressed with MCU film franchise. You met and started dating on the set of ‘The Avengers’, by 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, you’d moved in with him, he’d proposed during 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron’, and by the time 'Captain America: Civil War’ came around you’d been happily married for almost a year. The end of 'Infinity War: Part 1’ called for your first pregnancy- which the two of you were planning on keeping a secret until the three month mark. And by the end of 'Infinity War: Part 2’, your little miracle would have been born and introduced to the world.
“I know we’re here to talk about the movie but can we just discuss your personal life for a moment?” Jimmy asked Chris. “You and Y/N have been married for a while now, do you think we’re going to see little Captain Americas and little Agent 25s running around anytime soon?”
You pressed your lips together when you saw Chris’ reaction. He looked like he was definitely dying to tell someone but the two of you made a promise and neither of your families knew yet so he kept his mouth shut and let Jeremy made the first comment.
“He’s enough of a child for the both of them,” Jeremy joked. “You should see them out and about, they paint the town red till the break of dawn. It’s no wonder they work together 'cause I don’t think anyone else can keep up with them.”
You laughed, suddenly glad you weren’t there to be teased.
“You two like to party?” Jimmy asked, chuckling.
“Why do you think they don’t have kids yet?” Mark chuckled.
“So they’re the ones you guys call to have fun, Chris and Y/N?”
“Definitely.” Robert nodded. “Those two are absolutely hectic.”
“Mm hm,” the entire cast nodded with all their thumbs pointed at Chris.
“Nooooo, we’re not going to do that!” Chris held his hands up in surrender. “We’re on TV, guys! Our parents are watching this. C'mon, if Y/N sees this she’s going to lose her mind. We promised her no embarrassing stories, so c'mon!”
“If she doesn’t want any embarrassing stories about her then she should settle down,” Robert said. “Hear that, kid?” He addressed you through the camera. “Become a mom and everything embarrassing you’ve ever done is wiped clean off the slate.”
You chuckled and picked up your phone, texting Chris the following words.
Just break the news, babe. We’ll call our families after the interview. I know we said we’d wait but it’s happening so we might as well tell people. I know you’ve been dying to tell them anyway so go ahead, you’ve got my full support. ❤️️
After sending the text, you turned your attention back onto the TV screen. Chris flinched and you knew it was from the buzzing in his pocket. He subtly pulled his attention away from Jimmy and the rest and took his phone out of his pocket to read the text. You saw his smile and you couldn’t help but smile back. He looked up at the screen and winked, knowing you were watching.
“Hey guys, um-” Chris cleared his throat and drew the attention onto himself. “I’ve got something to announce. Y/N and I have been keeping this a secret for a while now and um- she actually just decided it was time we break the news. She just texted me telling me to announce it right here on Jimmy Kimmel.”
“No my God,” Scarlett gasped and turned to Chris a knowing smile. “Is she-”
The rest of the cast turned to Chris with widened eyes and excited smiles, waiting for confirmation.
“Yup,” Chris nodded, smiling. “We’re expecting our first child.” He said and the whole room gasped.
“Wow!” Jimmy clapped. “That is- congratulations, you guys. Y/N,” he looked into the camera. “We wish you could be here with us. Congratulations, you two are going to make wonderful parents.” He said and you smiled.
“No way!” Robert’s jaw dropped, his excited grin visible as he turned from Chris to the camera. “I knew it,” he pointed to the camera and you chuckled. “I’m so proud of you, kid. I can’t wait to meet your little one.”
“Congratulations, man!” Jeremy slapped Chris on the back excitedly.
“Yeah, welcome to the dad clan. You’re one of us now,” Chris H shook his hand, grinning.
“I’m so happy for you guys,” Mark told him, smiling. “You’re both going to make amazing parents.”
“Thanks guys,” Chris grinned. “I’m very excited as well.” He turned his attention back onto the camera, speaking directly to you. “I couldn’t have asked for a better person to experience parenthood with and- I’m ready as long as I’ve got you by my side, sweetheart. I love you and I can’t wait to see you.”
You smiled, feeling your eyes water as you picked up your phone and texted him your response.
A/N: This is a request from an anon, about being RDJ’s daughter and dating Chris. I kind of started the way you wanted me to but ended a little differently, still the gist of your prompt. Enjoy. :D
“There are a lot of people here tonight,” Chris chuckled softly as the two of you posed for photos on the red carpet of the Civil War premiere. “That means more eyes on me when I do something embarrassing.” You rolled your eyes at his paranoia. “Oh, I will. We both know from experience that I have the tendency to do embarrassing things around you. Remember the first time we met?”
“How could I forget?” You laughed softly.
You were visiting your dad, Robert Downey Jr. on the set of the first Avengers movie when you first met Chris; you ran into him on the way to your father’s trailer. You knew who he was but he had no idea who you were because he had only just began working with RDJ and was yet to find out that he had a twenty-four year old daughter from a previous marriage.
You had tried to introduce yourself but he was in too much of a panic to realize that you weren’t wardrobe because he had ripped the pants of his Captain America suit and was due for a scene in fifteen minutes. You felt bad for him so you decided to pretend to be wardrobe and help him; you didn’t learn to sew for nothing, plus- you were used to helping your dad with his.
Chris was pretty much smitten with you five minutes into the conversation. Not only were you ridiculously pretty- which he noticed even in his panic; you were down-to-earth, funny, intelligent, and kind. You also shared his tremendous love for all things Disney, a huge plus in his book. It got to a point where he felt the need to ask for your phone number so he could continue to take you out on a date. You gave him your number knowing your father wouldn’t approve of you dating one of his co-stars but it was always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Speaking of your father, you could still remember the look of horror on his face when he saw you with a pants-less Chris Evans. He was close with Chris now and was incredibly happy that you were dating that great man but that wasn’t how their relationship started. “What the fuck are you doing with my baby girl?!” was the reaction your father had. You remembered jumping between the two before your father attacked him with his Wing-Chun, which he still promises to do till this day if Chris ever hurt you.
“Downey was beyond pissed,” Chris chuckled. “He didn’t talk to me for days after that. I still remember that one day where he literally had the whole cast over for lunch in his trailer city and didn’t invite me. It was months before he finally accepted us together, I think Susan said something to him.”
“I think she did too, ‘cause it would’ve been years if Mom didn’t say something to him. You know how stubborn he can be, he is basically Tony Stark.” The two of you chuckled because it was true. “But look at where we are now, he loves you so much more than he loves me.” You joked and he laughed. “You laugh but you know it’s true.”
“Please,” Chris chuckled. “You are the apple of his eye. As much as he loves me- he’d never love me more than he loves you. You do remember how he iced me out after our first fight, right? He got the whole cast to turn against me, even the stand-ins.” You chuckled softly. “Love me more than you love me, maybe,” he teased with a cheeky wink.
“Definitely,” you bit playfully.
“Hey guys!” The reporter from Extra greeted the two of you as you made your way to the interview line. “I’m with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.’s daughter, Y/N. The two of you are still looking as adorable together as ever, how are you tonight?”
“We’re great,” Chris smiled.
“Fantastic, thank you.” You smiled.
“First of all, I have to congratulate you, Chris, on the movie.” Beside you, Chris dropped his head with a widening grin. You gently rubbed his arm, smiling proudly. “You did a wonderful job. The whole world is already raving about the film and half of them haven’t even seen it yet. How are you feeling about it?”
“I am incredibly proud of the work we’ve done. It’s not just me, it’s my cast mates and the Russo brothers but I think a huge part of our success has to do with the guys behind the scenes. Marvel did an incredible job with the story, you know- it was a huge job. There are a lot of big characters with big arcs and they managed to integrate it in a way where it makes sense. I’m incredibly honored to be apart of such a wonderful film and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.”
“Speaking of what’s next,” the interviewer turned her attention onto you and you raised your eyebrows, unsure of what she was smiling about. “The two of you have been dating for a while now, five years?” You and Chris nodded. “Do we see wedding bells sometime soon?”
You subconsciously brushed your thumb over the empty space on your ring finger where your engagement ring should’ve been but wasn’t because Chris wasn’t ready to go public with it yet. All your friends and family already knew, he just didn’t want the world to know. At least until the press tour was over ‘cause he couldn’t imagine the kind of questions he was going to get if people knew he had recently proposed to Iron Man’s daughter.
“Well,” Chris chuckled nervously. “Uh- You know, we’re happy together and we definitely see a future together but um- there’s still some things we need to talk about.” He looked over at you and you chuckled, pressing your lips together to tell him you weren’t going to help him. “But yeah, it’s on the to-do list.”
“What are we talking about?” You heard your father’s voice and you smiled as he crashed the interview, wrapping his arms around you and Chris. “Hi baby,” he greeted Chris the way he should’ve greeted you, giving him one of his signature cheek kisses. “Hi Y/N,” he greeted you the way he should’ve greeted Chris, giving you nothing but a light pat on the arm.
It was an ongoing joke.
“Hi Dad,” Chris chuckled.
“Hi Downey,” you chuckled.
“We’re just talking about the two of them and when they’re going to get married,” the interviewer informed your dad, whose smile had ten-fold. “What are your thoughts on that? As the father of Y/N, would you want to see her settle down and start a family of her own?”
“Of course I would,” your dad nodded. “I would love to see that happen. She’s my eldest, you know- she’s been in this committed relationship for five years now. I expected a wedding like- two years ago but someone,” he shot Chris a fake dirty look and you chuckled softly. “Can’t seem to catch a hint. Come on, time is running out here. Y/N is young but Chris is nearing forty soon, if he wants to have kids…” He trailed off, trying not to laugh at Chris’ pursed lips.
“Go do your own interview,” Chris covered your dad’s mouth and tried to push him away.
“And miss out on all this fun?” Your dad chuckled. “No way. C'mon Chris, when are you going to propose to my baby girl? When I am going to have the honor of walking her down the aisle and giving her away to you? 'Cause I’m ready whenever you are.” Your dad glanced at you and the two of you tried not to laugh.
“Even Iron Man is begging you to tie the knot, what do you think?” The interviewer asked Chris and he chuckled softly, shaking his head. “Y/N, you’re ready to settle down with Chris right? He’s the perfect specimen, so handsome and incredibly sweet. Would you say yes?”
Both you and your dad looked over at Chris with eyes asking a similar question, for the permission to break the news to the world. He thought about it for awhile then heaved a sigh and nodded. Your dad gave your arm and encouraging squeeze as you opened your clutch and fished out your engagement ring. The interviewer looked down as you slipped it on, her eyes widened with shock.
“I already have.” You held up your hand to the camera, smiling.
“We’re engaged,” Chris announced and kissed the side of your head.
“Oh my God,” your dad pretended to be as shock as he was the first time you announced it. “Congratulations, you two! I am so happy for you guys!” He hugged the both of you tightly, drawing laughter from both you and Chris.
Imagine being teased constantly ‘cause you and Chris are the only couple on set.
You were just walking out of the Starbucks in your hotel lobby when you spotted your fellow co-stars; Chris, Anthony, and Sebastian tumbled out of the elevator, laughing amongst themselves. Your boyfriend was the first to spot you; his pretty blue eyes lit up and he flashed you his perfect, heart thumping smile. You smiled back and waved, catching Anthony and Sebastian’s attention as well. They smiled and waved, then nudged Chris playfully with smug smile on their faces. You couldn’t hear what they were saying but from the redness in Chris’ cheeks, you knew it was them teasing him about you again.
“You’ve got a better work ethic than me,” Chris wrapped you into a hug, the Burberry London cologne you bought for him filling your nostrils. “I woke up and you’d already left,” he said and pulled away. “Thank you for the note though, without it- I definitely feared that you had been kidnapped.” He teased and you giggled.
“We’re going to go grab a coffee,” Anthony told Chris. “You going to come get one too or are you just going to share with Y/N? You know, like the two of you share everything.” You and Chris rolled eyes simultaneously while suppressing the urge to laugh; you were guilty of it, there was no denying that.
“Couple goals,” Sebastian teased in a girly voice.
“Shut up,” you laughed and shoved Sebastian back, drawing laughter from him. “Chris is going to get his own coffee 'cause I’m going to need every drop of this after last night. Oh God,” you suffered immediate regret when you saw the smirk on Sebastian’s lips.
“Oooohhh,” Sebastian began and you pressed your lips together. “Are you sure you’re going to be able to work today?” You turned to Chris, who was trying his utmost best to hold back his laugh, and shook your head. “I think we’re going to have to tell Kevin to separate these bunnies. Ain’t that right, Chocolachino?”
“Oh, definitely,” Anthony agreed. “We can’t have their love life messing the movie up.”
“You guys are the fucking worst,” you bit but the smile on your face contradicted the insult; Chris wrapped an arm around you, kissing your hair. “Just go get your coffees,” you instructed then laughed when Anthony and Sebastian saluted you. “Everyone else is already on the bus, so hurry up!” You called and they waved without turning around. “You not going to get one?” You asked Chris, who had started steering you towards the exit with him.
“You’re all the pick me up I need,” he winked with a click of his tongue.
You sipped at your coffee as the two of you walked toward the bus. Chris pulled you closer to him as you shuddered from a sudden breeze that blew in your direction. You looked up at him and smiled, reminding yourself how lucky you were to have someone as wonderful as him in your life.
“Ladies first.” He took his arm off you and yanked the door open, he beckoned you inside and you chuckled softly. “What?” He chuckled, and as a response you looked down at your butt which looked fine in your yoga pants. “Oh,” he scoffed and laughed at the same time. “I can’t be a gentleman?”
“You can.” You smiled and climbed the first step, carefully to showcase your butt; he shook his head with a light chuckle yet his eyes were pretty much glued to your perky cheeks. “But you’re not.”
“Morning sunshine,” Scarlett was the first to greet you when you entered the bus; she was sat at her usual spot, somewhere in the middle on the left hand side. “Ready for another long bus ride?” She asked, holding up a coffee cup from Starbucks and a book.
“You know it.” You held up your own coffee cup from Starbucks and your iPhone which was jam packed with your favorite albums and podcasts. “I’m going to plug in and shut down,” you told her and she nodded in acknowledgement.
“You look like you could do with some extra hours of sleep.” RDJ commented and you nodded in agreement, yawning as you did. “And I see the reason why entering right now,” he continued in a more teasing tone when Chris appeared behind you.
“What’s that?” Chris asked innocently.
“Downey was just-” Chris H began to explain.
“Don’t start,” you pointed at him and he pressed his lips together.
“I bet the beds are wrecked,” RDJ teased and you sighed. “I didn’t start, I was finishing.” He defended himself. “Sorry kiddo, you know we can’t control ourselves around the two of you. As the only couple on set, you’re bound to be teased.”
“Don’t make me dump him.” You were joking but you said it in an overtly serious tone which sent Chris into a bit of a panic; he poked his head over your shoulder, his eyes wide as his blurted out in a frantic tone.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Nothing, baby.” You giggled and pecked his clean shaven cheek; he smiled and hugged you from behind you. “I was just ruffling their feathers so they’d stop bothering us,” you whispered in his ear.
“You two are adorable,” Cobie cooed.
“Thanks Cobie,” you smiled. “I think so too.”
“Oh, so she gets to comment without getting growled at?” Jeremy scoffed.
“That’s 'cause she’s a girl,” Sam chuckled. “And 'cause she doesn’t relentlessly torment them about their relationship. Ain’t that right, Y/N?” He asked and you nodded, smiling. “See, I can say they’re cute and she won’t growl at me. You two are cute together.”
“Thank you,” you smiled.
“That’s unfair,” Mark huffed.
“Boo hoo,” you bit then pouted mockingly.
“Alright alright,” Chris chuckled and pulled away from you. “How about we just relax, today’s only the third day of filming. We’re going to be seeing each other for the next six months, let’s ration out the teasing. Shall we?” He suggested and everyone chuckled, but calmed down.
“Ever the Captain.” You teased him and he shook his head, chuckling.
You sat down on your usual seat and Chris took his, right next to you. Both of you started to settle in, putting your bags under the seat in front of you. You pulled the cup holder down and slotted your coffee into the hole, then got comfortable; you took off your shoes and curled your legs into yourself. Chris pulled out the blanket he had stuffed under his seat and flicked it, covering the both of you. You slipped your hand into your jacket pocket and got out your iPhone and earpieces, plugging it in and putting your favorite playlist on shuffle. You put one side in and passed him the other, keeping your inside ear free so you two could talk without pulling it out.
You leaned on his shoulder and sighed contently, listening to the words of Ed Sheeran’s 'Kiss Me’; all the while, letting memories and moments with Chris play in your mind. Okay, dating a fellow co-star meant a little bit of teasing on set but you’d rather that than go six months without your beautiful, wonderful boyfriend. You couldn’t imagine how the others were dealing without their significant other and kids; basically all of them were married with children, except you and Chris; it might happen one day, for now- the two of you were contented with just each other.
“You going to sleep?” You heard Chris ask and you shook your head. “You should.” Under the blanket, he slid his hand into yours. “You had a pretty late night yesterday, you should probably rest up otherwise you might pass out doing a stunt or something.”
“I’m not that fragile,” you chuckled softly.
“Let’s not risk it,” he kissed your hair. “Sleep, okay?”
“Okay,” you mumbled and let your eyes fall close. “Mm…” You hummed, letting Ed Sheeran’s soothing voice and Chris’ soft humming put you to sleep. “I love you, Chris,” you heard yourself whisper.
“I love you too, Y/N,” was the last thing you heard before sleep overwhelmed your senses.
