Some Marvel Headcanons I have thought about
  • - Even if the mind for certain superpowered individuals are telepathy-proof, their minds can be weakened by sleep deprivation or drugging. Thus it makes it vulnerable for them to get brainwashed.
  • - For a long time, I have thought about why the adult superheroes/supervillains (e.g. Spider-Man, Johnny Storm, the original X-Men and so on…) are in their prime age after their debut. They have stopped ageing normally after Franklin Richards was born. As a reality-warping child, Franklin might have kept them in their prime ages subconsciously. Or rather, the adult superheroes are ageing at their slower rate. Even if Franklin Richards isn’t around, there would be other reality warpers who subconsciously keep them at prime age.
  • - Other than supersonics and getting knocked on the head, the telepaths/telekinetics (e.g. Jean Grey, Rachel Summers, Psylocke, Quentin Quire, Justice, Emma Frost…) can be affected by lack of sleep. The less sleep they have, the weaker the psychic gets whenever they use their powers. Chances are there would be more painful headaches,  nosebleeds and probably fainting after they strain themselves.
  • - Robbie Baldwin is one of the few superheroes who is immune to Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare because he is too used to suffering with guilt. Plus Robbie is innocent despite the fact that he unwittingly caused Stamford incident (by not knowing that Nitro is powered up with MGH and eventually blows up Stamford) as well as Civil War.
  • - Like horses, the speedsters (e.g. Quicksilver, Speed, Northstar…) eat a lot of food. They need to eat high-calorie food to burn it out for running a lot and using up their energy.
  • - The reason why Richard Rider calls Robbie Baldwin ‘Toothpick’ as a nickname is not only because Robbie is skinny and short, it’s also because Richard has a brother called Robert Rider (also known as Robbie Rider). With the two ‘Robbies’ he knows, Richard gives his friend of the New Warriors a nickname so that he won’t mix them up.

Nova (Sam Alexander), Scarlet Spider (Kaine Parker), Water Snake (Faira Sar Namora) and Hummingbird (Aracely Penalba) are about to meet their doom when Justice (Vance Astrovik), Haechi (Mark Sim), Sun Girl (Selah Burke) and Speedball (Robbie Baldwin) arrive just in time.

But wait, how did they get here? Off-panel magicians with teleporting magic….

The complicated origins of Vance Astro (a.k.a Major Victory) from 90s Guardians of the Galaxy and Vance Astrovik (a.k.a Marvel Boy, Justice) of the New Warriors.

In the loving memory of the 2014 New Warriors AS A TEAM. Yes, I know that they are alive but they are the victims of ‘Forgotten Characters from Cancelled Comics’ and ‘Interesting Potential Stories Got Wasted’. It’s just that I have been too cynical about current Marvel for having too many cancellations and the pre-ANAD established characters with potential getting mistreated while the current crop of ANAD teenage legacy heroes are protected by plot armour.

I wouldn’t even care if the ANAD teenage OCs, teenage Original Five X-Men or any young NuHumans get killed off in the next few years….

While the New Warriors, Rage and Darkhawk are discussing their plans to stop Tai from taking over the world, Firestar decides to stay behind because she has to testify at Vance’s trial.

Here’s a little-known fact, behind his silly exterior, Speedball has a slight knowledge on legal matters since his father is a district attorney.

- New Warriors v1 #22, 1992

As Robbie had missed the early train, he turns into Speedball to speed himself up in order to get to the New Warriors meeting on time. Unfortunately, Speedball lost control that he bounced around too fast. Meanwhile, the New Warriors are having a conversation while Speedball bounces around in the background.
