It’s full of personality, promise, and possibility. Now, the urban mecca that radiates its expressive, collective atmosphere way past the five boroughs is captured in DKNY’s newest fragrance, DKNY MYNY. Housed in a modern, heart-shaped bottle with a silver, skyline-inspired top, the magnetic blend of raspberry, pink pepper, jasmine, freesia, patchouli, and vanilla absolute unleashes spontaneity with every spritz. We caught up with singer, actress, and die-hard New York devotee Rita Ora to get her take on the vibrant eau de parfum and the dynamic metropolis that inspired it. RENEE TRILIVAS
What is your New York story? I came to New York when I was 17 to meet with my record label and began this new chapter in my life. My career started in this city, and therefore, New York has always been a fairy tale to me. It has a special place in my heart!
What do you love most about New York? What I love about New York is the energy, feeling, and vibe. It’s free, loud, and energetic. It has the most fantastic restaurants, museums, nightlife—it truly is the city that never sleeps—and that is exactly why I love it. You never know what to expect!
What draws you to DKNY MYNY? I am drawn to MYNY because it is a spontaneous, playful, and sexy scent that really does represent what New York is about. With each spritz I am reminded of New York City and all the people that make up its energy and vibe.
How do you think music and fragrance are similar? Music and fragrance are similar because they are both developed by artists and are sensorial experiences. The final product consists of a series of notes and makes an emotional and memorable connection with its audience. It’s about emotion—you can smell something and a million different emotions rush to mind. The only other thing similar is music!
