X Factor: Simon Cowell Slams Cheryl And Rita Ora: 'Singers Don't Want To Find Other Stars'

Eek, handbags at dawn - Simon Cowell has seriously laid into some of The X Factor’s previous celeb judges.

We’re willing to bet that Cheryl and Rita Ora are going to be pretty furious after they hear what the music mogul has had to say about their judging credentials, with Si implying that solo singers do not make good judges on the show.

We assume that Simon isn’t counting Nicole Scherzinger in that statement considering she is a judge on the current series…

Speaking in a new interview, Simon didn’t name names but hinted that some of the singers who have graced the judging panel have been more concerned with their own careers than finding new talent.

He explained: “When you’re sitting as a judge and you’re judging these shows you have to like people. If you don’t, you can’t do this job. It’s as simple as that.

"I mean, this is one of the issues I have at the moment when you put too many singers on a judging panel.

"Singers don’t want to find other stars. It’s just not in their DNA, they only think about themselves - that is the nature of being a solo artist.

"I am a cold-hearted A&R guy, record. I own a record label. So the only thing I’m interested in is finding a star.

"Now, you put a singer in my seat and somebody ten years younger than her comes on and is better than her, she does not want her to do well. It’s a fact.”

Considering Rita won last year’s series with her act, fellow female solo artist Louisa Johnson, we’re willing to bet that she did care about finding new talent after all, but Simon has clearly chosen to overlook that.

Meanwhile, one judge who has escaped Simon’s acid tongue is Louis Walsh, who Simon admitted brought a smile to his face.

Speaking of Lou’s grand return to the panel, the father-of-one shared: “It would not be the same without Louis. I could not have done ‘X Factor’ without Louis. He has been part of the show for 10 years.

"We were friends when we first started and mates before that. I like working with Louis. He makes me laugh.”

Weirdest Looks at the 2016 MTV VMAs

Ever since Lady Gaga wore the meat dress to the VMAs, it’s anything goes at the most out-there awards show of the year. Tonight on the red carpet at the 33rd annual show, some of MTV’s finest ? and a motley crew of other personalities ? were the ones wearing the wackiest ensembles. Take a look.

Farrah Abraham

The Teen Mom doesn’t get any respect ? and we don’t think she’ll start getting it after rocking this odd look. The reality TV mom turned porn star channeled her inner Wonder Woman, which is always cool (more so on, say, Halloween), but all her plastic surgery, that blue-green hair, and the painted-on headpiece make her look like a caricature. Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley

The Internet has been buzzing over the Jersey Shore alum’s sexy new look, but all we see is … Elvira! Why do all these celebs seem to think it’s Halloween in August? (Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage)

Nev Schulman and Laura Perlongo

The Catfish creator and his pregnant fiancée wore black-and-beige matching outfits, which was nice and everything except Perlongo forgot her shirt. The freelance copywriter and photographer’s bare belly protruded from her open jacket and she accessorized with a chain that crisscrossed over her breasts. Can’t wait to see what they wear to their upcoming wedding! (Photo: Getty Images)

What was with all the celebs forgetting their shirts? The singer, who is apparently back with Diddy after a spat, lost her top but remembered to throw on the brightest yellow wig we have ever seen. (Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)

Flo Rida

Rapper Flo Rida could have made enough of a statement with his Superman T-shirt, but he took it to the next level with a pair of sparkly blue pants. Didn’t he have any tights in his closet to complete the look? (Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)

Baddie Winkle

At 88, the Internet personality can wear whatever the heck she pleases. We’re just glad she made sure to match her nude sparkly getup (inspired by Britney Spears’s look in “Toxic”) with her cane. (Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage)

Nick Cannon

Is the Howard University freshman pledging a fraternity and being made to wear a turban to the VMAs? That would make sense. Otherwise, no. Just no. (Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)

Rita Ora

Well, Rita Ora wasn’t Becky With the Good Hair at the VMAs. She was Rita with the furry jacket, bikini top, short-shorts, feathers, and ankle-breaker shoes. (Photo: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images)

Ansel Elgort

Was he attending the show as actor Ansel Elgort or his other persona, DJ Ansolo? If we knew, it would help us figure out what exactly is going on here with the gloves, chains, and the rest of his odd ensemble. (Photo: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images)

Cole Whittle and DNCE

Joe Jonas’s new band is nothing like his old one! Cole Whittle, who may have walked out of the barbershop before his haircut was completed, wore leather overalls with chains and rings galore. It’s a far cry from Joe, Nick, and Kevin in their chastity ring days. (Photo: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images)

Jaden Smith

Will Smith’s 18-year-old son owns one pair of shoes, three pairs of pants, five shirts, and one cat coat. The budding philosopher wore a patchwork jacket that was all boring and drab until you got to the bottom, which is covered in cats. If only he had a grin like a Cheshire cat to match his coat. Instead, he sported his signature Jaden pout. (Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage)
