I like versatility and im curious so I’ve done all these. Now I mix them up based on my goals/events. Here’s my breakdown:

#Insanity - my first. Great to shred and for cardio

#Asylum - like Insanity but more geared on athletic training

#TaiCheng - TaiChi inspired great for mobility super low impact

#P90X - amazing for foundational fitness

#P90X2 - Goto for athletic improvement

#P90X3 - 30min workouts straight to the point and effective

#BodyBeast - mass building

#T25 - 25min 5 days a week good to drop weight and fit into schedule

#lesmillscombat - super fun mma inspired. Core killer

#lesmillspump - 800 reps in one session. Shred and build lean muscle.

Just simple dvds huh? These are tools rooted in science and test groups and real world application. Paint brushes dont paint masterpieces. Artists do. Learn your craft. Learn to use your tools. Results will manifest like you wont believe. If you cant self study get a tutor. Theyre called #beachbody coaches. #payitforward #exercise + #nutrition + #support. #Tbt. A little more than a year ago during a time I was a hot mess mentally/emotionally decided to focus on something I love to do. Coaching. Figured someone out there wants help and Ill use my turmoil as fuel.

@alixsparrow11 simply said help me lose a few lbs. I said no - you want to get in the best shape of your life. That was lesson one. Never limit yourself to what you “think” you can accomplish. Reach.
We agreed she would train mentally and participate in things that scared her…which worked for me.

So imagine this. Someone who hasnt worked out, poor eating habits, low motivation. Training began with sporadic #Insanity and within 2 weeks the first event - #GoruckNasty 001. It was a fight for sure with no real fitness base but she was fired up and wanted to do an actual #Goruck challenge. “Well im doing one in 3 weeks in Boston” “you think I can do it?” “Itll suck bad but yes you can”

Multiple Goruck events and a Spartan Trifecta later she is 40lbs down (thanks #T25 and #Shakeology) and it WILL NOT come back. Doing scary things and pushing limits fosters growth. As you chane mentally the physical will reflect that. These medals and patches are not physical rewards - they are mental trophies and a testament to the impact of support. Be support and seek support. This is the core of @RiseFitClub.

So now who wants to do scary things in 2015? In the words of my first trainer and one of Alis chief motivators @shauntfitness

Today I was asked what my “why” was. Its a great reminder and point of discussion. Alot of people mistakenly believe great physical effort is the key when really the more difficult task is training your mind. Your results will reflect your mindset and your mind is only right when you know your “why”….and sorry to say “looking good” falls extremely short. Its just not important enough to most. Here’s my answer…think about yours and keep thinking. Eventually you will act.

“ My why is my son. He has been before he was even born. As soon as I realized I was going to be a father and have the honor, pleasure, and responsibility to raise a child I focused on my own health and self development. I had to be the example and at the time I was a poor one. It’s far off but I knew I never wanted my son to wonder if I had done things differently - that I would have more time on this Earth with him. I was on a road that was going to shorten that time with higher risk of health issues so I made the choice - for him - to get off that path and walk another one (more like ruck another one). The change wasn’t physical. It was mental. I trained mentally and my body responded. That is still my main focus. I am by no means done. I will continue to forge myself into the best example for Linkin I possibly can. That’s my mission I will fail and I will keep moving forward. Fail better. Fail forward. Because that is where success is. In the journey”

Came home with 6 headbands after my most grueling #ToughMudder since Tron 2011. That wind was cutting us to shreds on the last half. Lessons learned: I can function off 2hrs sleep - shorts and no sleeve in wet windy 40 degree weather is COLD - doing your best lets others know its ok for them to do theirs. #MudderLegion #10Strong #ocr #RiseFitClub
