"V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organisations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery."

I’ll be heading down to the London event, but if you check on Facebook you can find local events to you.

This is the Link to the London event:

All finished! Just need to get to a photocopier… Quite daunting since I haven’t left the house in 3 days….if you would like a copy email #zines #zineswap #zineshare #zinesters #zinesuk #riotgrrrl #riotgrrrlzine #feministzine #femzine #equalityzine #musiczine #rookie #diyzine #sharpie #paper #glue #illustration

So I’ve been trying to get some help with content for my zine, so I’m spreading the word across the social media websites, so now there is a Facebook page and new email (!

But if you’ve forgotten what we’re all about here it is:

Cannonball1330, is a my third year final/major project for LCC, it is also something I would like to continue after my studies are completed in May (Bricks).

The fundamentals of the Zine is that it is a feminist/equalist/Riot Grrrl zine, 16-24 pages long, that will more than likely be quarterly.

Why quarterly? Because I need your help, as much as I am passionate about gender equality and stamping out sexism, I can not pretend to know everything and that is where you come in.

I am looking for submissions for this first issue (which will be apart of my major project), it can be art, illustrations, a poem, photographs or just a good old rant (50-300 words) on:

what does feminism/Riot Grrrl and gender equality means to you in the 21st century?

Female, Male, Trans, subterranean, I want to hear from you!

send all submissions to:

Cannonball1330 needs your HELP!

As you may have read from my Bio, Cannonball1330 zine is a third year major project and as much as I love writing/drawing about my favourite Riot Grrl, feminist topics I am running out of time.

So this is a shout out to everyone writers, illustrators, women, men and trans, can you help?

Would you like to submit an article (200 words) image or drawing on what feminism/riot grrrl means to you.

You will get 100% of the credit, I will send you a copies for your friends and families and know that you’ve helped a struggling student out.

Thanks for reading

Feminists who hate women, homosexuals and the government they work for

Oh yes, that “feminist” does exist and she is Nadine Dorries conservative MP for Mid Bedfordshire (nice voting guys and gals).

I use feminist loosely as I’m thinking she only likes and supports ‘Hetero’ women. Lets all read in astonishment, what this woman said yesterday about same sex marriage…..

"This bill in no way makes a requirement of faithfulness from same-sex couples. In fact, it does the opposite.

In a heterosexual marriage a couple can divorce for adultery, and adultery is if you have sex with a member of the opposite sex. In a heterosexual marriage a couple vow to forsake all others … A gay couple have no obligation to make that vow [to faithfulness] because they do not have to forsake all others because they cannot divorce for adultery. There is no requirement of faithfulness. And if there is no requirement of faithfulness, what is a marriage?”

I’m lost for words as this make absolutely no sense, is she implying that gay couples are unfaithful? Gay couples will be getting divorced more than Straight couples?

Over the coming weeks we will undoubtedly be writing about the crap this woman says.
