“He was such a sweet and charming little boy. But he also had this melancholy feeling that I identified with. I didn’t have much contact with Paul, and I was always a little afraid of John because he could be arrogant and overly ironic. But George didn’t have a mean streak in him.” - Jürgen Vollmer, Harrison

A short but cute and fluffy fanfic that (I hope) will make you smile for a second.

I guess some of you know my major obsession (besides Omelia, obviously) is Megan, Owen’s sister. Yes, I know, she only appeared in one episode. Gotta love my fangirl brain, right?

From what has been said so far, I got the impression that Megan and Nathan got along well and really loved each other before the cheating and the problems Nathan claims they had happened. This was kind of hard for me to write because I ship Griggs but at the same time I ship Methan/Huggs/Rint (???). But I gave it a try, and with a little help of the talk Nathan and Owen had in 13x05, I came up with this. Enjoy!

Owen, Beth, Megan and Nathan finally reached the lake. After 2 hours of driving, they were all eager to walk around a bit.

“Wow, this looks amazing,” said Beth who unbuckled her seat belt.

“Told you,” smiled Owen as they all walked out of the car.

“When have we been here for the last time?” asked Megan.

“Hm… I don’t know. But it was before dad died for sure,” said Owen.

“I barely remember it. Wasn’t there a little house somewhere? I think they were selling ice cream in the summ- Oh my god! It’s still there! Nate, you have to see this!” excitedly yelled Megan and dragged Nathan behind her, almost running.

Owen and Beth just smiled and decided to walk around a little.

“Why are we running?” asked Nate. “The house isn’t going away, you know?”

Megan looked over Nathan’s shoulder. “I needed some time off from Beth.”

Nathan chuckled. “You still don’t like her, do you?”

“I like her,” said Megan unconvincingly. Nathan laughed because she was the worst liar ever. “Fine, I don’t exactly like her. She’s nice but she so squeaky and dependant and smiley… Like rainbows are going to pop out of her. But whatever. Enough about her. Come here,” she grasped his hand and led him to the side of the house where there was a bench. You could see it was old and falling apart a bit but it was still good enough for two people to sit down.

“This is nice,” commented Nathan as they sat down and Megan curled up with him.

“Yeah…” sighed Megan. “Won’t be long till we are back in the dessert, all sweaty and-”

“-I like you when you’re sweaty,” said Nate with a dirty smirk.

Megan just smiled. “Shut up. But no, seriously, it feels nice just the two of us, right?”

“It does,” Nathan kissed her forehead.

“Actually, I was thinking about that.”

“Thinking about what? You being sweaty? We can arrange that if you want.”

“Nate,” Megan stood up, “stay focused. I was thinking about us. And we’re great and in love and blablabla. But maybe… I was just thinking… Hypothetically… Maybe there could be three of us someday?” When Nathan didn’t answer immediately, Megan proceeded to ramble. “Not now or like too soon. You know, once we return and settle back here. We have time, I just thought I’d-”

“You’re rambling,” said Nathan.

“Right, sorry.”

Nathan smiled because he loved how charismatic and talkative Megan was. He thought it was adorable how much she rambled and found it hard to believe how focused she could be in the OR.

“Well, I have to say I have had similar thoughts and I agree with you. It makes sense. There’s one, then there’s two and bam, the third one comes. It’s all just math, really,” he said with a serious tone and a poker face but he clearly couldn’t keep it for long. Nathan stood up and reached for Megan’s hand. “Let’s have a baby as soon as we come back. Or babies. As many as you want,” he said.

“I love you,” said Megan and jumped on Nathan. Before he could say it back, they kissed. It was a short kiss but filled with so much hope. After he let her down, Megan started laughing.

“This probably sounds crazy but… I already picked some names.”

“Yeah?” chuckled Nathan, “let me guess, it’s not Beth, is it?”

Megan rolled her eyes. “No. Bernard,” she claimed with confidence and started to walk away.

“Bernard?!” Nate asked himself, clearly horrified by Megan’s choice.
