Group exhibition curated by Jussi Goman and Timo Vaittinen.
Riihimaki Museum, Finland
January 28 - April 29, 2012
Fun! is an exhibition in which fun bubbles below the surface of even the most serious piece of art. Sometimes it meets the viewer with a smack in the face; at other times it is just a coy wink from the darkest corner of the piece. It can also reside in the way the work was made or in the artist’s attitude. Sometimes just the shapes are enough to create a sense of fun. The humour in the Fun! exhibition is variously dark, white, neon red, round, angular, digital, hand-made or conceptual.
The featured artists are: Jussi Goman, Hannaleena Heiska, Emil Holmer (Sweden/Germany)Laurent Impeduglia (Belgium), Misaki Kawai (Japan/USA), Antti Laitinen, Robin Lindqvist (Sweden/Finland), Erkka Nissinen, Anna Rokka (Sweden), Michael Swaney (Canada/Spain), Timo Vaittinen.
