elias: yousef is a nice guy
sana: it’s just that he’s not muslim
elias: yousef is the most muslim guy i know. he doesn’t drink, he’s always respectful to everyone
sana: yes but, he doesn’t believe in allah
elias: doesn’t believe in allah…do you know how many people i know say they believe in allah? but still drink, steal, vandalize…what’s more important? saying you believe in allah or live like you believe in allah?
yes. YES. this scene was so important. you do not need faith to be a good person. you do not need faith to live a moral and righteous life. you don’t need a holy book to dictate to you what is right and what is wrong. we are rational thinking humans with a sense of morality. there are many, many awful people who do immoral things but claim they believe in god. there are many, many awful people who do awful things IN THE NAME OF GOD. some would even say that those immoral people who believe in god are better than moral people who don’t…why can’t people see how twisted that is? you don’t want to recognize and acknowledge the good in people if they don’t share your faith but that only makes you a bad person, not the non believer. i don’t know how it’s logical that apostates are the scum of the earth when most apostates are good people who just don’t share a certain faith. my mantra is and always has been, YOU DON’T NEED FAITH TO BE A GOOD PERSON. i am so glad skam has brought this point to light. your beliefs and religious philosophies mean nothing if you don’t act on them. you are just a pretentious fuck. believing in being a good person and BEING a good person is two separate things. stop judging people so shallowly.
