riddler's reform

anonymous asked:

Hi! So I'm really interested in the PI Riddler arc but I don't really know when it starts, what comic series it shows up in(I do know Gotham City Sirens is one of them but that's it) and when it ends, I was hopin' that you'd know and wouldn't mind tellin' me :3c thanks for your time and any help you can give!

Riddler’s reformed arc is a pain in the buns to keep track of because he just randomly pops up in the middle of series and on going story arcs, only to play a small role. I’ve organized the list to go in chronological order starting from the first mention of his cancer to his return to crime. Most of the story lines are self contain and do not need additional reading but if you’re a Riddler fan, I highly suggest you read the complete Trinity series.

them: wtf batman isn’t a good hero or a good dad he just beats people up and does nothing to make gotham better with all his money

me:

  • hey remember that time when he adopted four kids because they didn’t have a home?
  • hey remember when he funded steph to help her become batgirl?
  • hey remember that time he put himself on the board of commitee at arkham so he could make sure his enemies were getting the proper care they needed?
  • hey remember the several times he has paid for two-face’s restrorative surgery?
  • hey remember when instead of beaitng a young criminal up and taking her to jail he hired her as a receptionist at wayne enterprises?
  • hey remember that time he sponsered harley’s parole and smiled as she leaped around her cell with joy?
  • hey remember that time he helped scarecrow get back into teaching after his reform?
  • hey remember that time he worked with riddler after his reform?
  • hey remember that time he moved arkham asylum to his own home because he knew it was the best option to keep them off the streets?

wow batman is so callous and uncaring. what a jerk.

For reals tho, you know what would be cool? A Riddler comic series with a reformed Riddler. By reforming it means the writers can use him more easily without the need of those over complex riddles, you can do that cheap anti-hero thing that comics seem to love now a days, and his new secretary could be Kristen Kringle.

The comic series could revolve around Riddler trying to be a normal civilian with his PI job but costume freaks keep wrecking up his home and work life. And Batman won’t agree to be his body guard so he hires the skill sets of Query and Echo (after they tried robbing him).

The main over all plot could be the daunting question is he really reformed or just playing the system? Each move he makes seems to be out of character yet at the end of every issue his actions are very reasonable in that given situation.

Issues could range from plot heavy action to daily life events and he can travel outside of Gotham for cases, meeting up with different detective based heroes, Question, Constantine I’m look at you guys. But not too much because I really want more interaction between Batman rogues.

Summary: Wacko Toys is selling a new line of novelty items thanks to The Riddler–Not the criminal, of course, but the image. Edward Nygma is a pretty face in a costume, a recognizable brand name, a hit seller! Batman remains skeptical, however, when it seems like the Riddler is cluing Batman in to crimes through Wacko Toy advertisements. Is Batman reading a little too much into the videos? Can Edward control his desire to leave a trail of breadcrumbs for the bat? And what do these little toys really do?

Favourite Moment: I’m a sucker for the riddler’s advertisements, particularly when he scolds the child: “Not like that! You’ll break it!”

What Was That?!: Riddler receives an *audible* boner at the sight of a couple of girl’s at his promotional party. It’s a little disturbing.

NananananBATFACT!: Just like how Indiana Jones can’t survive a nuclear explosion in a refrigerator, Batman couldn’t survive a compressed explosion in a bronze safe. It would have acted like an oven, and Batman  would have been cooked alive.
