Leading men in Technicolor, 1935. These come from a series of shorts produced by Louis Lewyn for MGM, which were basically large Hollywood parties with movie star cameos spliced in. Frustratingly, the leading lady cameos are few and far between.
Richard Barthelmess as Bat McPherson in publicity stills for Only Angels Have Wings (1939). Richard was born in New York City and had 80 acting credits in his career, dating back to an uncredited bit in 1916, through his retirement in 1942. His other films among the best 1,001 include two DW Griffith silent films opposite Lillian Gish, Broken Blossoms (1919) and Way Down East (1920), and The Dawn Patrol (again as a pilot in a Howard Hawks film).
