rewatch! rewatch! rewatch!

Not to be nitpicky, but this bugs me every time I watch this episode (7.11). Because Dean had that shit under control:

Until Krissy came in and his attention was pulled away from the kill he was about to make:

So, really, no, Krissy, you did something incredibly stupid and I’m not saying you didn’t pull it out in the end, but seriously, Dean would have done just fine without you.

Karen and Matt’s hands separating and letting go to reveal a beat up and bed-forced Frank Castle between them and Karen being the one to determinedly step over the literal red line into Frank’s space and Matt trying to haul her back remains some of my favourite foreshadowing tells on screen. It’s so good.

Add in Frank’s lines of “Hold on to it. Use both hands and never let go” to Karen about Matt (dude, she literally already let go the second she saw you in that hospital room) and “You cross over to my side of the line, you don’t get to come back from that.” (she crossed over and she made a point of staying there) just makes it all the more brilliantly done.

Guys during one of the songs Vic came over to our side and jumped on a box and did that thing guitar players do where they stomp while they play and head bang and when he did that I very enthusiastically head banged with him and he looked right at me and saw and then he smiled and head banged and stomped harder. It was a very spiritual moment.

Sarge: “What in sam hell’s all the racket?”

Simmons: “We installed a speed unit on Grif and it’s sort of …. malfunctioning right now.”

Sarge: “Well turn him off!”

Simmons: “I can’t! They run on timers. We’re just gonna have to wait it out.”

Sarge: “How long?”

His kids were messing around with freelancer tech and Grif got himself in trouble. Can’t not read this as parental.

TDB Rewatch: Audition (2x01)

Welcome back to the rewatch and welcome to Season 2!!!  We’re kicking it off with Audition!

After a tough loss at Regionals, the Glee Club is back as the underdogs of McKinley High. When the school is faced with even more budget cuts, Mr. Schuester pushes the kids to help recruit new members for the club. The Glee Club has had some changes over the summer, new relationships, new activities and some relationships broken up.  Rachel and Finn disagree on new recruits, and aren’t sure they will be able to come together in perfect harmony. Finn attempts to recruit new transfer student, Sam while Rachel attempts to recruit Sunshine. Jealousy gets in the way, which may cause some problems. Will and Sue team up together to take on Coach Beiste, the new football team coach when Figgins reveals that it’ll cut Sue’s Cheerios and Will’s New Directions funding.

The episode was directed by Brad Falchuk and written by Ian Brennan.

Alright - so there are going to be a few changes going on….

Sundays: Pretty much the kick off day for the week, and also where Meta Monday and First Listen Friday are distilled into.  So – do that rewatch, dust off that old meta, listen to that music again, then write about it and put it in the tags!

Tuesdays: Will remain the poll, the results will be on Saturdays as usual.

Thursdays: Will remain TBT – and I encourage you to post the gifsets, old interviews, memes, and fanfics – anything related to the episode.

Instead of doing a round up – tag with “tdb rewatch” “todaydreambelievers” or “spaceorphan18″ and I’ll reblog it here so everyone can take a look at it.  Also - have any prompts for fanfics related to the episode, or headcanon kickstarters? Feel free to tag me, too, and maybe we can get some good discussions going.  I hoping that by reblogging - it’ll start more conversations and/or get things moving a little more than things were in season 1.

As usual - don’t feel bound to my schedule - if you have something from season 1 you’d like to have out there, still tag me! I’ll reblog it with the correct episode tag.
