Telling George

Jack is nervous when he knocks on the front door of George’s house. He’d wanted to have this conversation in person, but it’s not one for public consumption, and he feels like he owes it to her to let her be the first person in the Falcs to know since she’s the one who scouted him. He doesn’t know a lot about George, aside from the fact she’d played in juniors, then for a couple of the few professional women’s hockey teams they’d had prior to the NWHL, and she’d played in the Olympics. He doesn’t know anything about her personal life except that she wears a wedding ring, he realises.

And the door opens. The woman on the other side is not George, but she looks familiar. It takes a moment for Jack to place her due to the weird context, but he realises she’s Thirdy’s wife Carrie.

“Oh hey Jack,” she says, sipping the wine she’s holding. “George said you were coming by. Come on in. Everyone’s in the kitchen.”

I thought I couldn’t be more attracted to Kate, but then I was watching the alternate scenes and she started ad-libbing a run of biologically accurate information on voles. (Technically there are two vole species that occur in New York, but they wouldn’t be in an urban setting, no, and I’m not sure I’ve heard ‘super-multiplier’ itself in an ecological context, but it’s definitely applicable and appropriate.)

Maybe she was able to pull this out of her head, maybe she knew this line was coming and did some quick research beforehand, either way, there’s video of her speaking my scientific language and I love it.

Why does Chae get so damn cuddly when she’s drunk?

Marichat Week (Day 1)

“Hey, Kitty. Sometimes I seriously wonder who it is you come over to see. Is it me, or my family you’re dating?”

aka can it still count as secret dating if your parents know about it?

“Bonjour, princesse. Fancy meeting you here.”

Marinette rolled her eyes at the masked boy that leapt onto her terrace. The sun shined down on his black-leather suit, but somehow the smile one his face shined brighter.

“Totally, how wouldn’t you expect to see me on my own terrace?” Chat Noir grinned as he stood closer to her. He mimicked her relaxing stance, leaning his arms against the railing.

“What can I say? My lady, dragged me back in.” He teased with a cheeky grin, taking her hand in his and pressing a tender kiss to it.

Marinette laughed as she pulled her hand away and poked his nose “I think the cat dragged himself in this time. What are you doing here? I was expecting someone … else.”

Chat turned a little somber, resting his arms on the railings just as Marinette had been, “someone else had a little trouble convincing is father of letting him out of the house by himself. Even though said father wasn’t planning on spending any time with his son inside the house anyways.”

Marinette let out a huff as she leaned next to him, her back against her railing. “Why am I not surprised? I’m sorry, Adrien.” she gave him a sympathetic look, her fingers pressing lightly on his arm.

He gave her a sad smile before turning his gaze back towards the view. Marinette’s roof was small, but it had the loveliest view. As well as the most beautiful hostess.

Adrien shot a cheeky, Chat grin at Marinette, “I don’t suppose you’re feline up to entertaining your favorite superhero, are you?”

Marinette rolled her eyes momentarily, and Adrien was suddenly expecting her to push him away for ruining the moment so soon. But her face suddenly became flirtatious, her face leaning closer to his own, fingers resting tighter on his arm, “Chat Noir, you’re a real pain in the ass. But your ass is mine.”

Adrien let out what could only be described as a squeak just as a knock was heard.

“Marinette, is someone in there with you?” a voice sounded from the inside of Marinette’s home. Chat’s ears shifted, but he relaxed and he let out a pleased smile as they picked up who it was.

“No, mom! Just the stray cat that likes to stop by!” Marinette stifled a laugh as Chat Noir pouted at her with faux-watery eyes.

Chat could sense Sabine Cheng had popped her head through Marinette’s trap door, as her shout became louder, “Well, tell the cat to come down! We’ve got some sweets for him!” Chat’s eyes widened in delight and he made a pleading gesture with his hands to Marinette. She shook her head at his antics, but gestured him permission to step into her room.

Marinette opened the latch and shook her head as Chat bounced into the room, off of her bed, and right in front of her mom. She held an assortment of chocolate chips cookies in her hand, a gentle smile on her lips. “Hello dear, would you like to step in and have some milk as well, or do you need to leave right away?”

Chat had been looking greedily at the cookies, but gave a bow of respect to Sabine. “I could never just dash and dine with you, Madame! Especially with such a generous offer.”

“Oh, you sweet boy! See Marinette, I told you he was a keeper!” Sabine commented as she began to descend down the hatch as Chat followed behind her. He turned to give Marinette a cheeky grin as they descended down the stairs, to which she stuck her tongue out at in response.

“Be careful there, sweetie. We’ve got a cat here that can get that tongue!” standing in the living room was Marinette’s father, Tom Dupain, pulling out freshly baked quiches from their oven.

“TOM!” Chat exclaimed, almost jumping with excitement at the sight of the older man.

“How are you, son?” Tom placed the quiches on the counter before shaking Chat’s hand. Being so large, Chat shook around a little bit but he laughed all the same.

“Excellent, now that I’m here!”

“Good, good. No akumas beat you up too badly?”

“Nothing I can’t scrape out of. Although, I’ve got a pretty sweet nurse to look out for me if I ever need it.” Chat innocently placed his hands behind his back, shooting a loving smirk in Marinette’s direction.

“Don’t cats like to lick their own wounds?” Marinette crossed her arms, returning the smirk to the boy next to her father.

Me-owch!” the room lit up in laughter. Adrien couldn’t help the sense of belonging that arose in his heart. No matter what form, he loved coming here. It felt like home.

“So son, are you up for some video games? Maybe together we can beat Marinette’s high score on Ultimate Mecha Strike III.”

“Absolutely! To the controllers, it’s off the hook!” Tom and Chat made the same, ridiculous stance and Sabine and Marinette laughed quietly as they watched them boys.

“We sure picked a couple of keepers, didn’t we?” Sabine commented to her daughter before pulling Tom’s hand from it’s position in the air and led him into the kitchen to finish cooking lunch.

“Absolutely,  Marinette replied to her mother as Chat Noir stepped near to her. She could no longer stop herself from returning the happy grin that had been on his face since he had stepped into her house. “Hey kitty, sometimes I seriously wonder who it is that you come over to see. It is me or my family that you’re dating?”

Chat took hold of Marinette’s hands, swinging them around as he pretended to ponder her question for a moment, “Well, you see, from my point of view… why not have both?” he seemed to question, before grasping her suddenly by the waist and pulling her close into his arms.

Marinette giggled, her arms encircling around his neck, “Am I not good enough for you, handsome boy?” her left hand crept into his hair and she gently scraped his head. Her other hand trailed down to flick the bell around his neck before returning back to the nape of his neck.

Chat had closes his eyes, his mouth letting out a quite purr at the feeling of Marinette so close to him. He pressed his forehead to hers and she suddenly felt short of breath, “Marinette, you will always be more than enough for me.”

Marinette’s heart became to beat wildly. She smiled as she let one of her hands gently touch the skin on his face, enjoying this tender moment with him. “And you will always be more than enough for me.”

A resounding “awww” came from the direction of the kitchen, which only made Adrien smile even more. His hearing went numb as Marinette pressed a sweet kiss to his lips. A purr began emitting from his chest, drowning out any other sound that could distract Marinette from the boy in her arms.

“Do you think they’ve realized that he’s not Adrien right now?”

Shhh! Don’t ruin the moment, dear.”

I love that Kara’s first reaction over the revelation that Lena’s mom runs Cadmus was concern over Lena not knowing who her family really is, rather than betrayal that Lena kept that a secret. That Kara’s gut reaction was to believe Lena had nothing to do with it. And doesn’t know about it. That she remembers when Astra revealed that Kara’s family wasn’t what she thought it was. I just imagine Kara wanting to protect Lena as best she can from that. Because she considers them friends. I’m genuinely going to hate if Lena is involved with Cadmus. Because I feel like Kara’s concern is so personal and pure that it’ll be a really gut wrenching scene if Lena betrays her to Cadmus.

Daddy Adrien

So we all saw in the first episode that Marinette wants three kids with Adrien, but what I don’t think she expected was that he also wanted a big family.

He had grown up feeling so neglected and alone, that he wanted to make sure their kids never felt like that.

So after they have Louis and Emma (who were unexpectedly twins), and then Hugo, and finally little baby Claire, Adrien become Super Dad.

He’s so scared of being anything like his father that he sometimes annoys the kids with too much attention. He tries too hard to spoil them and bend over backwards, sometimes overworking himself to make sure he can do everything any of them ask him to.

Just once, Emma wants him to say no when she asks to play dress up when she knows he’s working. Just once Hugo wants Adrien to let his friend’s parents pick him up instead of driving himself.

Marinette understands why he does this, but she knows that the kids need to be independent too, so she keeps him balanced. She threads her fingers through his hair and reminds him that he is not his father, and he never will be. She places kisses on his temples as Louis catches the bus to school with his friends for the first time.

She reminds him that they have wings too, and sometimes they need to be spread. She’ll hold his hand as he watches the kids leave. She’ll kiss his nose as the kids call to say goodnight at a sleepover. Because she knows it’s hard for her to let them go, she knows that it tears him apart. But she knows that there is no better partner for her than her husband, and there is no greater bond than the one they share, and there is no better father for their children, even if he holds on too tight.
Benedict Cumberbatch reveals his family life is 'affected' by playing Sherlock
The Doctor Strange actor admits he's 'more curt' with his mother while filming the BBC series
By Hayley Minn

Benedict Cumberbatch has confessed playing Sherlock Holmes is taking its toll on his family life.

The British actor has played the fictional detective in the BBC series Sherlock since 2010 and got back into character for the fourth season, which starts on New Year’s Day.

But, according to his actress mother Wanda Ventham, Benedict is now bringing his work home with him.

Speaking to Radio Times, the Doctor Strange star said: “There is a kickback. I do get affected by it.

“There’s a sense of being impatient.”

He added: “My mum says I’m much curter with her when I’m filming Sherlock.”

Benedict went on to give fans a taste of the new three-part series of Sherlock, revealing there will be “payoffs”.

He said: “There are payoffs in this series that I know in some instances even the writers didn’t realise were happening until they were starting to write it, which is just remarkable.

“The level of invention and imagination and darkness and joy just gets better and better.

“There’s a lot of very serious stuff, and it’s very bleak at times.

“But the writers also manage to do something very funny as well.”

Dessert with the Bread Family

(A/N: A short fluffy thing that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Sort of a sequel to my fanfic, ‘Kittens’.)

“Hey, Papa,” Marinette called as she and Adrien rinsed their dishes, “while you’re over there can you check on the dessert for me? It’s in the oven.”

“Sure, Sweetheart,” the baker replied, smiling fondly at the pair.

Tom moved toward the oven, missing the twin grins his son-in-law and daughter sported, and leaned down as he turned on the oven light.

The big man pondered for a moment as he looked into the warm yellow interior of the oven.

“It looks great, but why are there two buns….. in the oven….” Realization hit him like lightning, and he gasped.

Hearing his words, Sabine perked up, her eyes widening in time with her husband’s, a broad smile splitting her face as she moved into the kitchen from her place at the breakfast bar.

Tom turned back toward his kids, his voice tiny and choked with emotion. “Really?” His eyes were welling with tears.

Marinette nodded, handing him a sonogram picture as Adrien handed one to her mother. “I’m going to be a grandpa?” The sheer awe in his voice warmed the younger couple.

“You’re going to be a grandpa,” Marinette confirmed. “Twins,” she added, beaming as Adrien wrapped an arm around her waist and nuzzled against her neck.

“Oh, Sweetie, I’m so happy for you,” Sabine said as she pulled her daughter in for a hug, tugging Adrien in too after a moment.

“I’m gonna be a grandpa!” Tom cheered, scooping his family up in a big group hug. “Oh, I can’t wait!”

His grin only grew wider as his family laughed. He set them down and gave Adrien a hearty pat on the back and a bone-crushing hug. When Sabine and Marinette started talking about due dates and baby clothes, he pulled Adrien aside and said, “Thank you, son. You make me a proud father.”

Adrien’s smile faltered, no doubt thinking of his own father, but then he turned back to the baker, his eyes watery, but fierce. “Thank you,” the blonde replied, wiping his eyes and hugging his father-in-law tight. He gave Adrien one last pat on the back before they rejoined their wives.

They were just in time to notice Mari showing off what looked, to Tom, suspiciously like Ladybug and Chat Noir onesies.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy Reveals His Big Family Plans With Peta Murgatroyd Could Include Adopting Kids

Maksim Chmerkovskiy cannot get enough of the world of parenting.

Close to two months after welcoming his first child with Peta Murgatroyd, the Dancing With the Stars pro has completely embraced his new role as father to a baby boy. At the same time, he’s already thinking about expanding the family.

"F–k yah. Yes, I would like to have as many kids as Peta decides to pop out,“ Maks shared with E! News exclusively while celebrating Swiffer’s 18th birthday. "I think we’re going to have as many kids as we can ourselves and just adopt a couple of kids. I just want a big family."

He continued, "I feel like the best part of having a child is you get to influence a brand-new human. If you’re going to complain about some of the things happening in the world nowadays, you need to look at the generation that you are raising and say okay, the best way to change or to alter or to upgrade this world is to instill things in your children that you want them to have as adults and push that out."

While Maks and Peta are busy gearing up for Monday night’s season premiere of Dancing With the Stars, the pair continues to make their baby boy the ultimate priority. In fact, they won’t even miss one of their son’s biggest milestones.

"He farted a couple of times. It was super cute. The first time he yawned I thought I was going to lose my mind,” Maks shared in New York City. “The first time he giggled I needed to walk away and reset, come back, because I was like, ‘This was the best thing that has ever happened to me.’ Everything first that he does is amazing."

And while mom and dad get used to having a baby at home, they’re realizing that things can get a little messy. Fortunately, Swiffer products have been helping for the couple who need a quick cleaning tool in between DWTS rehearsals.

"The last couple of months have been a crash course in adulating so I’m taking all the advice and the product is at the center of our household,” Maks shared. “Things happen with kids…and this is a perfect product for that."

Ultimately, credit needs to be given to both mom and dad who have managed to balance the world of dancing and parenting with flying colors.

"I miss her now. She misses me the second I get to the airport. Sharing a child is an incredible opportunity to figure out who you are as a person and we are settling into our roles as parents I think the right way,” he shared with E! News. “We’re just going to rely on one another and rely on our love, our unity and the sky is the limit."
