Zero Waste Tips

Whenever you go out, bring with you:

-a reusable water bottle filled with water (this prevents the purchase of plastic water bottles)

-an empty reusable coffee mug that can be filled during your travels, or a full reusable cup mug that you filled at home (prevents paper coffee cups and gives you a discount at many coffee shops, including Starbucks)

-some kind of small cloth that can be used in place of napkins, tissues, and paper towels

-at least one reusable shopping bag (I have one I bring everywhere that folds up into a little square pouch)

-a reusable container (useful if you eat out and have take home food)

SpaceX makes landing a rocket look easy 👏

Yesterday (19 Feb 2017), the second stage of Falcon 9 boosted a Dragon cargo capsule into orbit to deliver equipment to the International Space Station, and the first stage flew back and touched down on solid ground. It was the 8th successful landing (out of total 13) for SpaceX.

Every success brings Elon Musk’s vision of a fully reusable rocket transport system (between Earth and Mars) closer.

Use less plastic! Take a tote/cloth bag with you when you go to the supermarket so you don’t have to buy another plastic bag to put your groceries in. When shopping, buy fewer items packaged in plastic! If an item you want comes in a glass jar or plastic container, choose glass. Instead of buying the plastic wrapped fruit or veggies, pack your veggies loose and plastic free in your own reusable bag.

Re-use plastic bags and don’t forget to recycle as much as possible! :)

I’m working towards being zero waste.

I am in love with this thermo water bottle by 24 bottles. It has helped me consume more water daily, as I bring it everywhere with me!
I have also been filling up my mason jars at the bulk store. I can’t wait to continue my journey towards zero waste for this planet. I’m making slow steps, but it’s progress.
