I couldn't read the last comic of Wonder Woman. Is it confirmed that they clay origin return? I recently read a comic Titans, where the origin of Donna Troy was explained. Now Donma has a clay origin, but Wonder Woman (who also appear in this) was treated like she wasn't.

Oh my, you ask a tough question. I had to read the Titans Annual and that was really… something. First of all, any comic which has the following panel—

— already has me giving it a serious side eye. If a comic book has Batman act more trusting of the people around him than Wonder Woman… well then, you can figure out how seriously you should take it (to be fair: every character except for Warrior Princess™ WW was written well).

Okay, I digress because it’s so hard not to, lol. Let’s get to the panel in question. Basically eight members of the League and Titans are trapped together, trying to figure out whether there’s an imposter among them. Batman’s sensors detect seven organic signals and realizes that Donna Troy is not human. Before they can all turn against her thinking that she’s an imposter Donna, Diana steps in and reveals that Donna was made out of clay “by a magical process”:

The problem is that if there are seven organic signals, this means that Diana is one of the organic signals, which implies that she’s not made from clay. OR DOES IT?

Here’s what I think:

  • Donna was made from clay, yes, but by an Amazon sorceress who used someone’s blood (I can’t remember whose because #Finch) and read an incantation to bring Donna to life. This is magic.
  • Diana was made from clay but then brought to life by the gods. That’s not some weird magical incantation, that’s divine immaculate conception. She can be organic.

Seriously, if that’s not the case, then once again I have to shake my head vigorously at DC’s singular obsession with Zeus’s GOD-SPERM™, ugh.

Rebirth came and showed Diana that all of her memories since she became Wonder Woman in the New 52 were false… right? Or were those just her memories from Themyscira? And if it’s just memories from Themyscira, isn’t Donna’s origin (which is from Themyscira) invalidated too? Am I totally missing something? I’m going to ask Greg Rucka via twitter about clay origin, and I will update you if he replies. Thanks for the great question even if it’s destroying my tenuous headcanon!

anonymous asked:

Could you please do some meta on roy and donna?

With pleasure!

I think that Roy and Donna would be great together. Their personalities mix well, there’s chemistry between them, and she’s fantastic with Lian. They’ve remained really close despite romance not working out for them. It’s always been a mixture of platonic and romantic love between them that’s what draws me to this relationship.

[DC Special: The Return of Donna Troy #2]

“What can I say? I love that woman.”

Oh, his face. Thinking about Donna Troy turns him into a puppy dog boy. AND IT’S THE BEST THING.

To be perfectly honest, I turn into a melted pool of sincerest feelings when I think of Donna Troy.
