_The News About Dinosaurs_ P. 27 by Hallett by Babbletrish
Via Flickr:
From The News About Dinosaurs written by Patricia Lauber and published in 1994 by Aladdin Books. Features a wide variety of paleoart from the 80’s and early ‘90’s. I couldn’t find the beloved (and oftentimes hilarious in hindsight) Zoobooks dinosaur issue, so I was delighted to see that Mark Hallett’s best illustrations from it were also in this book. This give you an excellent idea of what an “accurate” Tyrannosaurus looked like before Sue was discovered. Bonus: Triceratops acting like Musk Oxen! I remember reading a long time ago a criticism of this painting, which said something to the effect of, “Triceratops was too stupid to know how to circle their young like this.” And yet, a bunch of hairy cattle figured it out. :/

_Tyrannosaurus Rex_ pg.32-33 by Babbletrish

Photograph from Tyrannosaurus Rex, written by Millicent Selsam and featuring photographs and Charles R. Knight illustrations provided by the American Museum of Natural History (sadly, the whole thing is black and white). Published by Harper and Row in 1978, meaning this book is as old as I am.
