restaurant august

64 days in heaven and hell (56)
Enjoy your meal, Monsieur Van Gogh
In August 1888, Van Gogh made a number of studies of completely different motifs. Here’s the interior of - presumably -  the Restaurant Venissat, where Van Gogh was a regular once he had left the Hotel-Restaurant Carrel in a dispute with the owner.
This restaurant Venissat was almost next door to van Gogh’s Yellow House.
