“It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.”

― Lemony Snicket, Horseradish

Today is  Finis Sparkman‘s funeral, so it’s the unfortunate day that his family, friends, and beloved drum corps will ever see him again. We at Marching Band Memes# would like to say that we have Finis ‘ family, friends, and fellow corps members in our thoughts (and prayers for those team members who are religious). I know personally that it isn’t easy to lose someone and to have a hole on the field will do nothing but be a reminder of the unfortunate truth of what has happened in the past. Those who I know that currently march and previously marched Music City, you guys are strong and this challenge is just the biggest of them all, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel discouraged because of it. Let this be what pushes you to be better and achieve more than ever.

Rest In Peace Finis Sparkman!

Losing someone important to you is one of the most shit things to ever happen. Which is why no matter what you make sure that you love and cherish every moment with loved ones and friends because once they’re gone the only thing you’ll have are those important memories. My thoughts go out to all of robins family. A lovely man who was took away far too soon 😔💔🌹

5th April, 1994.

23 years ago, the world lost a great musician and human being.

23 years ago, Kurt Cobain tragically died, leaving behind him fans who are still hurt to this day and who miss him dearly.
I never got to experience how it would be to lose a person who means so much for you, and even though I wasn’t around when Kurt was alive, I feel like I have known him enough to have the tears forming in my eyes and a dreadful feeling filling my soul. A feeling of depression and emptiness inside
of me.

Rest in peace Kurt, wherever you are.

I just wish that you would know how much you mean for a lot of people all over the world. How much your music meant to us. How much we love you and cherish you as a human being.
Wherever you are, I hope that you would finally reach Nirvana.

Rest in peace, you wonderful human being. You may be gone, but never forgotten.
