Do not shove your feelings away to be dealt with at a later time. Do not block emotions simply because you do not have the patience. They are an important part of being human, so please respect yourself enough to acknowledge them.
If you feel that something is overwhelming you, take the time to break it up into smaller steps. We have two feet for a reason; to put one foot in front of the other. One at a time. Don’t take everything on all at once, breathe, and simply take it step by step.
Allow yourself to become who you are meant to become. In life, others will develop differently than you. They will form a different set of opinions. They will simply be different. However, that is natural, for everyone is called to become their own person.
You be you, regardless of anyone else. Don’t allow the differences that may exist persuade you to hide your true self.
It’s anecdotal, but I regularly see Frankenstein’s monster described as a warning against scientific hubris, an alarum about Tampering With Things That Should Be Left Alone™. This I think is quite wrong: I think it is a story about what happens when one fails the (still at the time of writing) radical enlightenment by failing to take social responsibility for one’s actions and interventions. If it’s a warning, it’s a warning about turning one’s back, out of cowardice, on what one creates, not about creating it in the first place.
