Spring catch up day is a small, but special part of the Loomis tradition, as students have a Monday off before the start of AP exams and the final sprint to graduation. The extra Monday off allows many students to enjoy a long weekend on campus. While some students choose to go home and reunite with their families, or others visit friends in the New England area, a number of international and local students alike keep themselves entertained with movie trips or enjoying some time out in the quad.
Dorm gatherings, movie trips to Buckland mall, game nights in the SNUG, and restaurant trips allow students to relax, reset, and enjoy weekends on the Island. As an international student, I clearly remember how, at first, I was nervous about being lonely on certain weekends when many people decided to go home. However, Loomis makes sure that you can not only utilize the extra time to get some rest, but also gather your friends and spend some time quality together reflecting on the year before heading into the busy month of May.
